Directed by Czech émigré Alan Vydra (a graduate from the film school of Prague and in-house director for legendary producer and sex empire founder Beate Uhse) in his usual slapdash style, the movie even manages to waste such valuable natural resources as the presence of blonde beauty Véronique Maugarski (a/k/a "Vanessa Melville", star of Claude Mulot's superior SUPREMES JOUISSANCES) who plays the lead as Véronique, spoiled niece of over-sexed septuagenarian Lord De Chamoiz, who else but Robert Leray a/k/a "Jean De Villroy" of THE PLEASURE SHOPPE fame. Seems that our heroine is more interested in playing the casinos rather than consorting with members of the opposite sex. Uncle will soon set her straight though the movie commits the cardinal mistake of making the eye-popping actress shed her inhibitions during that 1970s porno staple, the orgy scene, with too much attention given to other participants including genre stalwarts Barbara Moose (the bride from Claude Bernard-Aubert's LA RABATTEUSE), Belgian-born Erika Cool (from José Bénazéraf's sulfurous BORDEL SS), Nicole Natte (also seen in Jean-Claude Roy's COUPLE CHERCHE ESCLAVE SEXUEL), Hubert Géral and John Oury.

Iris and Casey are childhood sweethearts in a small town in South Dakota. At the height of the Vietnam era, she harbors dreams of Hollywood stardom while he plans to enlist in the Marine Corps. On his last day before departure, Casey sweetly steals his girlfriend's virginity in a truly beautiful outdoor love scene. A year later, busy pursuing her career, Iris breaks off her engagement to Casey by letter to begin a "forced" romance with her lesbian agent. Years later, Casey and Iris reunite by chance while she keeps a scheduled date and he drives the taxi that takes her.
Both leads give sensitive and delicate performances as star-crossed lovers, whose romance swept most of the AFAA (Adult Film Association of America) awards the year it was released. Although 1978 was a banner year for the American porn industry, and actors were blossoming into near-legitimate superstars, it seems curious in retrospect that director Jesse Pearson cast two unknowns in the lead roles of this demanding film. She had a small role as a sex android in Sam Weston's SexWorld, and he never made another film.

An obviously well to do lady (there's no character name, but she's played by the supremely sophisticated Jenny Feeling a/k/a "Eva Paurey" from Kikoïne's dark ENTRECHATTES) spends her days moving from one carnal encounter to the next, forever followed around by a ludicrously conspicuous detective in trench coat and fedora, the latter portrayed by the omnipresent Piotr Stanislas. Most of the action takes place in a huge, "modern" (and, by association at the time, impersonal) office building with Jenny instigating an underground garage grope with her chauffeur - who looks like Willy Bracque, star of Jean Rollin's DEMONIAQUES - and obscure black performer Oumar (this particular bit of identification courtesy of the knowledgeable folks at La Revue Du Cinéma) on her way back from brightening up lonely business man Victor Samama's lunch break. The director's slyly subversive sense of humor surfaces in another sequence with bored office worker André Miller fiddles around with his latest gadget, a remote control designed to undo ladies' zippers. Shades of Manara's classic comic LE DECLIC. The elegant blonde in the subsequent group scene is Morgane, billed as "Marianne Fournier", the quintessential little French maid from Aubert's excellent SOUMISSION. The guy in the thick glasses is, of course, Claude Valmont, unlikely lead from Leroi's underrated LES PETITES FILLES.

With porn pouring in from all corners of the globe, the morally notoriously easy-going Dutch apparently never saw the need to jump-start an adult industry of their own, at least not until the video era kicked in, prompting a glut of cheaply produced "gonzo" stuff, highlighting another far more regrettable national trademark, i.e. excessive stinginess ! Back when adult movies were still the province of proper theaters, comparable to mainstream counterparts but for their occasionally sticky floors, there was seemingly but one man driven enough to productively pursue homegrown hardcore. A carnal cinema manager from the country's capital of Amsterdam, Willem van Batenburg (who recently published his most entertaining and enlightening memoirs) already had quite a few "loops" under his belt – frequently funded by the Germans, who consequently invested in their own intimate industry with characteristic efficiency – when he finally succeeded through much hardship and set-backs to craft and screen his feature-length debut PRUIMENBLOESEM. Recipient of begrudging critical attention, if not praise, being the first film of its kind to originate from the land of tulips and windmills, it became a huge national box office success, returning regularly to theater marquees until the porno palaces of yore forever closed their doors.

The handsome and well-off bachelor Robert agrees to take care of and host Jocelyne (the incomparable Gallic beauty Brigitte Lahaie), his best friend's fiancée. He makes Robert promise to provide shelter and attention to his girlfriend in his absence on business matters. Soon, the girl's innate talent for securing any woman her host chooses as a sexual partner becomes a recurring complicity between the two. And every man's dream comes true: Jocelyn showers her host with all kinds of sexual attentions, but also becomes the official arranger of whatever intimate adventures Robert chooses a la carte.
"La Rabetteuse" is a perfect example of simplicity in plot and narrative, without compromising maximum eroticism and sensuality. Claude Bernard-Aubert (AKA Burd Tranbaree) imbues the actors with a great ability to act serenely and without excess. Everything flows very naturally, and the carnal acts have a degree of European eroticism, morbid and even romantic. The beauty of the female cast undoubtedly contributes, and Brigitte exudes a radiant youthful beauty, handling her lines with confidence in every scene. This film may be one of Bernard-Aubert's gentlest and lightest forays into cinematic carnality, and also one of his most charming and engaging works, a kind of fleeting moment in French erotica, when everything came together to create something unique, sweet, and irresistible.

When one does not understand the language used in a film, sometimes the film can be hard to follow, but fortunately, not in this case because apart from some introductory dialogue between two drunks, the rest of the film is one continuous series of hardcore sex scenes with little narrative between them. For some fans, of course, this is what porn is all about. From the appearance and attitude of one drunkard, it is obvious that he is relating a story of how he came to be on hard times.
The rest of the action takes place at the titular Clinique des Fantasmes where all sexual problems are diagnosed and cured by relentless sex - some of it being really quite perverse. Just to be different one scene takes place in a boutique, much to the chagrin of the proprietor. Back at the clinic, it is therapy as usual with very intimate examinations and remedies. Sex toys come in all shapes and sizes such as snooker cues, ping-pong balls and the secretary (Barbara Moose?) gets a bottle well and truly jammed in a place it was never meant to go. The bottle idea would be used again in Journal Intime d'une Jeune Fille en Chaleur (1978) AKA Adorable Lola. This is one of Gerard Kikoine's early films and he certainly starts as he means to go on.

Sweet, beautiful, girl-next-door, Cathy, has fallen in love with a domineering, arrogant man named Tony, who puts her to work as a prostitute in Paris. Finally fed up with her life she makes a break for it and runs away to the countryside, where she meets Simon, a strapping, gorgeous and kind young farmer who is well liked by the local women. They fall head over heels in love at first sight and completely enjoy each others company in idyllic puppy love. Cathy couldn't be happier with her new life and love, except for the shadow of Tony and her former life. Eventually Tony hunts her down, and forcibly reminds her how she used to like working for him. Afterwards, in shame, and fearing rejection she pours her heart out to Simon, who organizes the villagers to chase him out of town with disastrous consequences.
Cathy fille soumise, is perhaps not the most appropriate title for this film. Cathy is not at all submissive in this film, far from it. A film with a lot of respect for the woman and for the woman who does the job of a prostitute. Very beautifully portrayed sex scenes, although perhaps a little too much of the good thing. A bit more attention for a nice story would make the film more digestible. Don't forget, the extremely beautiful and gifted Belgian actress Erica Cool is very good in her role of Cathy.

What really to watch this for is a candy delicious early performance by Cathy Greiner, who gets tenderly initiated by her teacher in the after-school session at his apartment and eventually falls in love with him. The whole scene is softy lit in red and green and Cathy plays it out very naturally, first being orally fulfilled, brimming the substance joyfully inside her mouth, and then gradually spilling it all over herself looking innocently upwards. The male is a weak part, a meeky type in his bathrobe and round glasses. And although showing some dark sides later on, one feels the lack of cunningness in him. Here just a recital from Apollinaire was enough to tame the lythe throat.
The main theme of the movie is the corruption of innocence, "initiation". Delicate Cathy has a counterpart and a rival, her classmate Samantha (Brooke West), who plays a nasty spoiled girl who spies on her aunt having an intercourse with a servant and later indeed, following Cathy secretly on her adventure, she makes some compromising photos of the teacher thus having him at her disposal from them on - undressing him in front of the class, making him take her to a brothel, etc. As Cathy is not being able to cope with it for long, this leads to the resolution and the parting shot.

The most eagerly awaited adult film of 2005 or so hype would have it. Having cut their teeth on countless DEBBIE DOES DALLAS remakes/updates/sequels, Vivid Video and their flagship filmmaker Paul Thomas decided to do the same to one of the industry's even greater sacred cows, Gerard Damiano's untouchable 1972 classic DEVIL IN MISS JONES, "re-imagining" the legend for today's audiences. As a longtime genre fan of a quarter century and counting, I couldn't help but be curious about the outcome, especially faced with the prospect of reigning quim queen Jenna Jameson essaying the part of the Horned One (Ms. Devlin, if you please !) and exciting new Vivid contract actress Savanna Samson who had received plentiful critical kudos for her work in P.T.'s LOOKING IN filling the void left by Georgina Spelvin. Most exciting though was the news that Spelvin herself would make a cameo comeback to tie this "cover version" in with the original, which was added as a bonus in a luxurious three disc DVD set. To my great surprise, I was not the slightest bit disappointed.

Private nurse Ange (the stunningly beautiful Agnès Lemercier) seems to make a good living eliminating filthy rich, disgruntled old men at the request of their second and third wives, invariably much younger. After her latest “success,” she heads to the French countryside to care for millionaire Gilbert Servien, who is making life miserable for his entire family, especially his nymphomaniac wife Carole (impressively played by the sad Marie-Dominique Cabanne) and his estranged bisexual son (the underrated Joël Charvier in a blistering performance). Meanwhile, Ange smothers the old man with kindness, taking the time to seduce each family member separately in a series of highly creative encounters.
This debut work by the extraordinary adult filmmaker Gérard Kikoïne remains one of his finest achievements. Revered as a director of vision and sophistication far beyond the adult film critics' circle of the early 1980s, he later chose to repudiate the "discredited" genre that made him famous, in favor of B-movie obscurity. The script for "Entrechattes" (renamed "L'infirmière" for the DVD release) is unusually incisive, and the acting is far better than average, creating a contradictory effect that draws the viewer into an oppressive and unhealthy hothouse atmosphere.

Well, this is clearly a big disappointment, a fall from grace. Surely checking Dorcel videos, I picked up the greed video in « XXX orgy championship » and I discovered Claire as a fantastic natural blonde : for one time, we had a french girl with a nice face, an engaging smile, no aesthetic butchery and seemingly cool. The day she gave black hairs, she was all the more exciting. Now that i tried to watch her movies, I realize that they are nearly unwatchable for me : In a way, it's was predictable as her name means only Dorcel production and Bodilis whose result is simple : it's strictly bourgeois, misogynist production : here, we escape the trafficking theme in which a poor woman becomes the sex toy in a secluded location but we are served by the other cliché, the lusty woman who do the thing with everyone she can meet. Claire is indeed licentious which have nothing to do with being free. It's revealing to notice that when she picks no suits, they tend to be poor guys, living in the underground or outside the expensive Parisian penthouse. So the content is so unhealthy, unnatural, discriminatory and selective that I think the real people will find it offensive and made for trash ! As for Claire, listening to her comments in the making-off, she revealed herself as different from my first impression : she is a bit diva and honestly, she may call herself a real loose but she doesn't show extraordinary skills in that matter ! For those who inspire for a better change, you can look for Lola Reve (#16) or Jade Laroche (# to come)!

Gilly and Billy host a successful morning radio show from their own home, and when she discovers her husband is cheating on her with his secretary Phyllis (a delightfully histrionic Mary Stuart), she decides to spy on them for her own excitement. From here, the comedy is high and priceless, and Gilly sets out to resolve the humiliation in kind, learning the art of adultery from her friends and acquaintances.
This is the second hardcore project from respected erotic author Radley Metzger, also known as "Henry Paris," following his resolutely explicit hit "The Private Afternoons of Pamela Mann." As with all his full-color fornication films, Metzger wrote the script under his pseudonym, surpassing himself with a plethora of witty one-liners that reflect the sophisticated brilliance of a comedy classic by Ernst Lubitsch or Billy Wilder, of which this is the closest approximation the adult genre could hope to achieve.

This has never been a very popular film, not even on the less than critical porn circuit. The recently deceased Francis Leroi was a well-liked and surprisingly respected figure with roots stretching back to the French New Wave of the sixties before choosing (rather than being forced) to make a living from adult cinema, only occasionally resorting to the odd nom de porn (Jim Clack, John W. Dark). Unlike, say, the perpetually hell-raising Gérard Kikoine (ADORABLE LOLA), Leroi was more of a gentle subversive, cheekily turning preconceived notions on their heads with a string of well-received adult films like JE SUIS A PRENDRE (containing Brigitte Lahaye's career performance) and his leather and chains opus REVES DE CUIR with Zara Whites. French video and DVD company Blue One who owns the entire impressive Alpha France back catalog encompassing most of the French theatrical treasures have given new life to one of Leroi's most overlooked gems on a superb value 3 for 1 DVD including his LE PENSION DES FESSES NUES and MA MERE ME Prostitute.

As Bill Milling entered the latter stage of his fornication filmography, acquiring the adult alias of "Bill Eagle", he seemed to lose interest in the kind of thorough plotting that had fueled his reputation as "Philip T. Drexler Jr." and his fun-loving alter ego "Dexter Eagle". Striking up a mutually beneficial association with producer Bob Bouchard, he would focus all attention on lavish production values and extensive location shooting, tailoring the narrative accordingly. Taking a page from the book of the ingenious European eroticists of the '70s such as Jess Franco or Joe d'Amato who routinely spruced up their sexploitation sagas with travelogue footage, Milling traveled halfway round the world scoring stock shots to be seamlessly inserted between intimate encounters instigated on home soil. Time-tested techniques like rear projection and matte paintings were extensively employed to uphold the illusion. An ALL American GIRLS entry in all but name, save for the fact that a mere four featured females could see it sued for false advertising if it were, PINK's plot was partially recycled by its director for an official installment, the third entitled UP UP AND AWAY, with an innocent wife unwittingly prompted to explore her dormant sexuality in the wake of her husband's alleged or staged demise.
