Another Teutonic adaptation of the memoirs of turn-of-the-century goodtime gal Josephine Mutzenbacher (known as JANINE in the US versions), this is also known as PROFESSIONAL JANINE and is the official sequel to SENSATIONAL JANINE, one of the best XXX films ever made.
Tall cool brunette Leila Vigso stars. She has an ever wry-smile as she engages in numerous sex acts, but neither she nor the picture ever come to a boil. The erotic scenes are mostly very short, allowing many more of them than usual, but they are also poorly filmed, cheating the viewer of involvement. The director here worked as DP on the prequel, SENSATIONAL, but seems to have learned virtually nothing about the technique of staging erotic sex scenes there.
The cast is attractive, lacking the extremely old people who are found in the first JANINE picture. Karine Gambier appears in 2 sequences. Vigso seems a little smug in the role and, though she looks good, she also looks like a pretty cold fish sexually. Certainly the story calls for a business-like approach, but she gives me the impression she'd be happier in some other business, most of the time.

Watching "Super Sex" I felt like a baseball player breaking out of a prolonged batting slump. After going about 0 for 20 viewing stinkers directed by Troy Benny aka Carlos Tobalina, I put this new Vinegar Syndrome DVD into my player and was pleasantly surprised (almost flabbergasted) by a high-quality porn film.
Nice aspect of Tobalina owning his own filmmaking equipment and studio is that the 1986 feature is shot on 35mm film, rather than the videotape then an industry standard. This also means that starlets of the time, such as Melissa Melendez and Shari St. Clair, are preserved at least once on motion picture film.
Simple format has 2 shrinks (Sasha Gabor plus a familiar face who isn't credited) listening to the sex problems, usually disturbing dreams, of pretty female patients, in a series of crisp, thankfully brief (by modern standards) XXX vignettes. The sex scenes are well-performed by the gals, often with the shrinks or other actors, and thankfully missing is Tobalina's usual contrived, stupid stories. Film's simplicity, without action scenes or various locations, turns out to be a big plus - for once the prolific director doesn't bite off more than he can chew.

Uncle Adrien, his brother (J-P Armand) and the Roberto Malone character take care of a woman in the club and the film ends on Geneviève finally doing it with her husband who had been too impressed by her to be able to really do justice to her beauty.

The original VEUVES EN CHALEUR was a bona fide box office bonanza in its native France but in fact far from an outstanding achievement in the porn field, pretty much average for director Claude-Bernard Aubert aka "Burd Tranbaree", Mr Middle of the Road himself. It never strayed beyond its initial gimmick of having an opportunistic youth (the somewhat irritating Charlie Schreiner) use the newspaper obituaries as a source for sex-starved widows.
At least the sequel throws in a genuinely offbeat idea or two and has two considerably more appealing male leads in Jean-Pierre Armand (looking ridiculously fresh-faced with an ill-advised perm) and Gregory, actually future fornication filmmaker Gérard Gregory who made a couple of seriously sexy sleepers worthy of rediscovery such as ADOLESCENTES AU PENSIONNAT and L'EDUCATRICE. The story's basically identical to the first flick with the added twist of having the widows frequently outsmarting their 'predators' plus an enigmatic third (female) lead, post mistress and part-time chambermaid (don't ask, it almost makes sense...) Madeleine, portrayed by the radiant Elisabeth Buret (unforgettable in Claude Bernard-Aubert's LE DROIT DE CUISSAGE), the real star of this film, despite it being hyped as another Brigitte Lahaye vehicle. While mega star Brigitte's back to back gropes are excellent value indeed, it's the final sequence involving both males, Buret and lovely US superstar Serena mixing Aubert's twin erotic obsessions (widows and newly weds) that elevate this charming little trifle to near classic status.

I watched my VHS copy many times of this John Leslie film back in the '90s, and from both the standpoints of story and eroticism it ranks among his best. For once the explicit sex scenes, mandatory from a cash register point-of-view, don't crowd out the advancing plot, or ruin the carefully developed characterizations. I highly recommend fans of XXX's Golden Age to seek out this baby.
NOTE: I recently (2022) discovered the feature "The Last Resort" and while watching recalled Leslie's "The Tease". It turns out that these two movies must have been shot back to back, as the locations (even the same weather!) and major cast are identical. Leslie produced "The Last Resort", directed by Wesley Emerson, and watching them together is terrific fun, both released by major label of the time VCA.

Tragic Shauna Grant heads the cast, playing a bad girl for once, expelled from one school for making out with sharp-featured Dan Stephens (who had the scene with Rachel Ashley in Chuck Vincent's couples classic IN LOVE) in the men's room and therefore enrolled in Ms. Marmelstein's strict all girls' academy. The leading lady in her early twenties, she's still the most youthful looking of the bunch of starlets assembled on this occasion, so you'll have to suspend disbelief to buy into this particular fantasy. Even harder to swallow might be the part of hot 'n' happening rock star Johnny Waylay being played by the insipid Dick Howard, who as "Jeremy Stone" would go on to become Adam Film World's editor in chief for several years and has been married to such genre goddesses as Kim Carson and Christy Canyon, so I guess I must be missing something. The "girls" trying to raise money to go to the rock concert makes for the plot here and somehow sex always manages to figure into those plans.

Although it can't even begin to compare in quality and scope to his landmark four part mini series TABOO American STYLE, this solid sleeper ranks among the late Ron Sullivan's more accomplished efforts for producer Herb Nitke's cost-conscious Nibo Films for whom he had previously made the merely workmanlike PUSSYCAT GALORE and SEX SPA USA alongside the occasional bullseye like MANEATERS or the massively underrated NASTY GIRLS. Making the most out of limited resources, Ron pulled surprisingly few punches in this dark women in prison drama at a time when most similarly themed fare such as Ned Morehead's DESPERATE WOMEN was played almost strictly for laughs. Restricted by the convincingly cavernous set for most of the running time, veteran DoP Ron Dorfman a/k/a "Arthur Ben" still manages a few striking compositions such as the framing of Raven's duplicitous character as Kristara Barrington slips out of cell for an illicit after dark rendezvous with guard Frank Serrone, the incident that fuels the inmates' revolt without which no WIP flick would be complete.

French adult movie from cult director Rollen is the second hardcore feature I've seen from him and like the other one, DISCOSEX, this one here is take it or leave it material that some die-hard fans might want to track down but I'm sure most, including the director, would rather just stick with his "other" pictures. I had to watch the film in French without subs so as much of the story I could pick up centered on a man who could no longer enjoy sex but that doesn't stop him from sleeping with every woman he gets around. Soon he finds the "one" that will get him back into the groove. Running a brief 75-minutes, the plot here really isn't too important and we don't get that much of it. Rollin handles the material quite well for what this is; a hardcore French film. I think Rollin does a good job in certain aspects but I'm not sure how actual hardcore film fans would see it. Quite often while watching the movie it seemed like the director was much more interested in everything else going on with the sex scenes just taking a seat in the back. The non-sex scenes seem to have been filmed with more quality and the sex scenes are usually done with a shaky cam as if no one actually wanted to film the scenes.

During the 1970s, "French fluff" was a favorite deogatory catch-phrase used by critics, to make fun of the very popular (on the art-theater circuit) imports of which "Cousin Cousine" and "Pardon Mon Affaire" were the most typical (and generated Hollywood remakes like clockwork). This Marc Dorcel production, directed by the talented Michel Ricaud, has similar content but for an Adult audience, and it hits the spot.
Title is untranslatable, with a literal stab yielding "The Loaves of the Baker's Wife", far removed from the Marcel Pagnol classic of the 1930s. Adding immeasurably to the entertainment is the juxtaposition of luscious food, in this case French pastries being created in the kitchen, and explicit sex, also in the kitchen. Closeups of the creme brulee being torched or other light desserts being baked are in context the forerunners of today's social media "food porn" photos.

The last and least-liked of Radley Metzger's explicit quintet shows the talented filmmaker now almost dispensing with plot altogether, a trend he previously toyed with on his free form BARBARA BROADCAST in a radical departure from the classic three act structure, borrowed from stage and screen lore since times immemorial, he previously and rigorously adhered to. Though he has never gone on record about it, my guess is that Metzger realized he had pretty much expanded the fornication film form to its genre-imposed limits with THE OPENING OF MISTY BEETHOVEN and was now gently phasing himself out of what was indeed increasingly becoming an industry (rather than art form) he had entered somewhat reluctantly in the first place out of economic necessity as the commercial availability of hardcore had made simulated screen sex obsolete. That said, MARASCHINO CHERRY still towers over much of its contemporary competition and may be in need of re-evaluation, an opportunity for which now graciously granted by the kind folks at Video-X-Pix who have issued a sterling 2 disc "Platinum Elite Collector's Edition" (hopefully, the first of many) in glorious widescreen to supplant their earlier bare bones pan & scan single platter.
