Longtime admirers of each other's achievements, erotic entrepreneurs Max Pécas and Radley Metzger finally joined forces in 1975 with former funding latter's awesome adaptation of Catherine Robbe-Grillet's pseudonymous penned (as "Jean de Berg") S&M romance THE IMAGE through his Paris-based production facility Les Films du Griffon. In return, Metzger would loan out that film's luminous leading lady as well as girlfriend throughout most of the decade Mary Mendum a/k/a "Rebecca Brooke" for Max's own entrance into the explicit arena (times demanding...) with FELICIA. In France, where l'amour comes naturally, Pécas saw no need for a name change to take the pornographic plunge. Casting aside their repressive government in favor of a supposedly more liberal alternative unexpectedly clamping down the Continental adult industry with surplus taxes and stringent regulation, French fornication filmmakers enjoyed a brief breath of freedom as powers that be shifted between 1974-76 when just about everything seemed possible without the social stigma that was soon to become their part. For Pécas personally, this meant a grand total of two sexually graphic efforts, the other being the unapologetically single-minded LUXURE.

Amazingly well-directed by the uneven Tim McDonald (whose best work includes TALK DIRTY TO ME PART 2 and PLAY ME AGAIN, VANESSA) and produced by legendary David Friedman, ALEXANDRA represents an unusually ambitious approach to porn, a sexed-up rendition of Joe Mankiewicz's delectably ironic melodrama A LETTER TO THREE WIVES no less. What may be most surprising of all is just how close to the source material this version actually stays, faithfully transposing characters and situations from the original to the fornication film format.
Hollywood legends Ann Sothern, Linda Darnell and Jeanne Crain as the titular 3 wives have been replaced by their adult industry counterparts Rachel Ashley (billed as "Ashley Summer"), the late Lauren Wilde (perhaps better known under her "Tina Ross" alias) and Joanna Storm respectively. Each of them excels at playing an upper middle class (and desperate ?) suburban housewife who secretly harbors a skeleton in her closet. The frequently heard yet never more than glimpsed Alexandra (Eve Sternberg for the body, voice over narration by Stephanie Rogers), a childhood acquaintance of their husbands, threatens to expose all of their dirty little secrets as she so helpfully informs them over the phone the very day the three of them are due for a charity picnic. She also announces that she will leave their lives for good that same evening, taking one of their better halves with her ! The ladies' guilty reminiscences make for the movie's many exciting erotic episodes.

Cathy Duprey has just gotten a job as a meter maid. Her boyfriend wakes her up by forcing her to fellate him, and then the two have sex for fifteen minutes. Then Cathy goes to the employment office, where a bunch of women are sitting around masturbating. 33 minutes into the 83-minute film, she finally gets her uniform.
I had already pretty much lost patience with L'AUBERGINE by this point, though it earns a touch of goodwill back with a few amusing scenes of Cathy and her coworker, Mika Barthel, on the street, handing out tickets and getting into arguments with drivers. Seems no matter where you live, no one is particularly thrilled to receive a parking ticket. One of the women wanders into a porn theater and watches and then participates in some of the action, while the other rents her uniform to a prostitute so she can fulfil a john's sex fantasy - though since he's late, the two end up making it together first. Everything ends with an orgy, which is arrived at by some narrative avenue I no longer remember. Or maybe it isn't - I was barely paying attention by this point.

Sticking to the milieu that he knew best, French fornication filmmaker Claude Bernard-Aubert (a/k/a "Burd Tranbaree", one of the prime purveyors of Francis Mischkind's erstwhile theater chain monopoly Alpha France whose back catalog is now distributed by the same man's Blue One company) rarely strayed beyond his favored middle class settings, though he would occasionally send up their morals and double standards as a distinctly more mild-mannered Claude Chabrol. Whenever he did, this would usually result in some of his best work as his latter-day masterpieces LES BAS DE SOIE NOIRE and L'INITIATION D'UNE FEMME MARIÉE duly attest. Making the most of its budget-dictated limitations, LE DROIT DE CUISSAGE fits right into this line-up.
Shot with a sleazy shutterbug's eye for raunchy detail by his frequent DoP Pierre Fattori and scored with the immediately recognizable groovy rhythms of equally ubiquitous Paul Vernon, Tranbaree's tale of bourgeoisie hypocrisy run amok benefits from a well-structured screenplay and unusually spirited performances by both leads.

Newlyweds Robin (a sympathetic portrayal from ravishing brunette Arcadia Lake) and Adam (a fine and affable performance by Eric Edwards) find themselves stuck in a stale and unhappy marriage after only six months of living together. The couple decide to separate and seek sexual satisfaction from others in an attempt to rectify the situation.
Writer/director Victor Bertini keeps the engrossing story moving along at a constant pace, does a sound job of creating a genuinely erotic atmosphere, and tops everything off with an amusing sense of cheerful bawdy humor (considering the potentially serious premise, this film turns out to be a lot more lighthearted than one might initially expect it to be). Lake and Edwards display a convincing natural chemistry as the attractive and appealing leads (the pair were a hot item in real life at the time this movie was made).

In his repetitive "bonus" interview material for DVD reissue Carter Stevens dismisses IN SARAH'S EYES as a standard porn film (which it isn't), merely revealing his who cares? attitude toward his craft. He gives an apocryphal anecdote how he was "cured" of trying to make good or interesting films early on by a producer who reminded him that the audience wanted sleaze -they needed a reminder that they should feel guilty about what they were watching. Fortunately this prevailing and condescending attitude towards their customers (I've heard similar interview sentiments from '60s/'70s soft-core pornographers David Friedman and Harry Novak) is not universally held by Adult filmmakers.
There's an overall sloppiness to SARAH'S that makes it very hard to take seriously, but the lack of silliness and slapstick that ruins so many films by Stevens and his early/mid-'70s NYC auteurs is positively refreshing. No winking at the audience, no poking the viewer in the eye, no beyond juvenile humor or attempted hijinks. Just a strong, morbid storyline that I would call compelling had Stevens violated his prime directive and tried a lot harder.

Though not the very first French hardcore production – chronologically Sylvie Meyer's fellatio in François Jouffa's LA BONZESSE and the silly yet explicit antics of the late if by no means great Lucien Hustaix (LES JOUISSEUSES, LES TRIPOTEUSES, etc.) paved the way – Claude Mulot's box office blast LE SEXE QUI PARLE holds the historical position of starting point for the Continental carnal industry, just like Gerard Damiano's 1972 DEEP THROAT does for its US counterpart. Not so coincidentally, given the latter film's worldwide notoriety even in parts of the world where it had not yet been seen, there are strong thematic similarities between the two with Linda's misplaced joy buzzer supplanted by Joëlle's gossipy gash !
Grand Prize winner at the first (and only) International Porn Film Festival in Paris, August 1975, it's a nostalgic reminder of what Euro porn could have been if it weren't for upcoming stringent government interference which effectively nipped the genre in the bud by placing tremendous taxes on production, distribution and display of graphic erotica, sentencing these (initially ambitious) movies to the ghetto of backstreet theaters and restricted budgets.

A young girl is abducted by a psycho, who bizarrely speaks backwards to her, while forcing her to watch films he's made of his previous victims, all nubile but rather rough looking German chicks who he rapes in a decidedly XXX manner... and that's about it.
Well, what can one say about this nasty little flick from underground German filthmeister Andreas Bethmann? It does exactly what it says on the tin, for starters. Psycho rapes chicks, then rapes some more, with juxtaposition of the protagonist victim watching this, while being subjected to wince inducing torture involving hooks. That having said, it does have a certain undeniable (albeit scummy) verve to it, with it partly being shot in this washed out monochrome style, that I'm not sure is a nod to German expressionism, or Bethmann merely attempting to justify what is essentially a grotty porn, by throwing in some horror overtones which are undeniably there btw, especially towards the end.

This life-style Adult movie bears little resemblance 21st Century porn, in that the sex scenes are brief, often cross-cut rather than allowed to run on interminably in pseudo-real time, and the action is character-driven. It's light and frothy but very well performed by an interesting cast.
The setting is an apartment building in Marina Del Rey, making for easy interaction among the large cast of players and purporting to present a snapshot of a sexually free-wheeling community.
Most welcome is the inclusion of many different actresses, not merely superstars but lovely supporting femmes as well. Stereotypes are introduced in order to be debunked, notably Hyapatia Lee as a mousey librarian who is sexually unleashed in latter reels, and Richard Pacheco, finest Adult actor of his generation, as a repressed soul introduced in spades to sexual liberation by experienced pal Randy West.

It's New Years Eve and all of the cool people are heading to the Disco Lady club where there is plenty of alcohol, sex and revenge.
Bob Chinn's DISCO LADY isn't the greatest adult movie that you're ever going to watch but it's certainly entertaining enough to where you should be able to have a good time with it. A lot of familiar faces show up throughout the film including Ric Lutze who has a couple scenes with Robin Savage.
There's really no plot to this film as we simply get a variety of people showing up at the club and having sex. The sex scenes are all well-filmed for the most part and at just 58-minutes the movie is pretty much over as quickly as it started. I won't reveal the ending but it's an interesting one and not one you'll see coming.
For me, the biggest catch here is seeing Rene Bond in what was probably her last filmed sequence. TEENAGE FANTASIES II was released three years after this one but I'm guessing her scenes for that were filmed much earlier. Bond doesn't get a credit here or does she get any dialogue, appear naked or have a sex scene. Instead she's just one of the ladies out on the floor dancing.

This movie is a good one, among the best shot by Laure! For a Dorcel production, it's a refreashing movie because it's not about young women being secluded in the country or in Paris Penthouse for pigs abuses but it's rather a comedy: Laure is a nymphomaniac which gives problems to her husband and her shrink. She is really good in this character: she does a lot and her last scene has an amazing anal action! Olivia (#21) is a hot secratary as well.
Sure the movie has a lot of negative things: the french title is awful, wih no meaning at all; the movie is much too long: who wants to watch a 2 hours porn movie? This is due to a poor story trick as Laura remembers her sexual past lifes: maybe all the Dorcel stars of the period has a scene but all of them are pretty boring! At last, Dorcel is really a poor director: he can't stop cutting his scenes, with stupid close-up or whatever! At the end, we have a long movie with a lot of small and quick scenes but Laura and Olivia stay at the top!

Shot simultaneously with his masterpiece JE SUIS A PRENDRE, the lasciviously moniker-ed LECHE-MOI PARTOUT (which literally means LICK ME EVERYWHERE but was officially re-titled SERVICES RENDERED for stateside distribution) is often considered as one of the late lamented Francis Leroi's worst film-making endeavors. Though an obvious rush job, this assessment seems somewhat unfair as it goes a long way to show that, even in his least ambitious mode, the director strove to give audiences a "proper" picture, nicely produced and with a semblance of acting, its simple premise seen through to the end. That last sentence might very well serve as a capsule review of this film, for which Leroi liberally borrowed time-tested elements from popular French boulevard theater whose ooh la la plays frequently focused on frantic bed hopping anyway and reduced them to some sort of bare bones structure that was to become a staple ingredient of Continental 'core for the remainder of the decade, paving the way for Jean-Claude Roy's LES NYMPHOMANES and Claude Bernard-Aubert's LE DROIT DE CUISSAGE to name but two of the more effective examples.

While they have probably made better movies in terms of narrative, production values or even sexual content, the original BAD GIRLS remains something of a signature film for the amorous and artistic partnership of Svetlana and David Frazer. Spawning three (official) sequels, it also easily remains the best of that series, the second installment in particular being an instantly disposable piece of drivel. As was their trademark, the dynamic duo assembled a visually stunning cast of then new female faces, few of whom had been seen before and several not all that frequently since, enshrining this effort in the hearts and minds of girlie watchers the world over.
Four hot centerfold friends (Angie, Kate, Chrissy and Bo, incidentally also the flick's working title !) decide to go camping for the weekend, getting into all sorts of sexy trouble along the way. Smouldering Victoria Knoll (one of the ballet school students in Gary Graver's underrated INDECENT EXPOSURE) gets the ball rolling as she gives horny shutterbug Richard Pacheco who does a very funny British accent exactly what he wants in a realistically sweaty scene.

One of the all time adult blockbusters, mainly because of the much awaited return of superstar Marilyn Chambers, who had taken a hardcore hiatus after exploding on screen in the Mitchell Brothers classics BEHIND THE GREEN DOOR and RESURRECTION OF EVE at the dawn of what was to be fleetingly labeled as "Porno Chic".
