The script and acting (with sloppily post-synched dialog) are extremely poor, but thankfully Candida Royalle, Winter and always-cute Tracy O'Neil make up for it in the sex department. Subgenre's theme of inbreeding is relegated to lesbian incest this time around.

Far better than Marc Dorcel's recent years' output, "Le contrat des anges", a feature in two parts made back in 1998, is glamorous Euro porn at its finest. I really enjoyed the classy production with all the extras -beautiful women dressed to the nines, fabulous settings and hot Euro sex scenes.
The plot line is lifted from the classic noir structure of Hitchcock's "Strangers on a Train", with interesting twists added (in Part 2). Dorcel's all-time greatest leading lady (and that spans 35 years in business) Laure Sainclair top-lines but the central character is played by an apparent 1-shot Anne Sophie as "Sophie". She's a beauty, not much of an actress but quite a clothes horse, who reminds me a bit of American star Carmen Luvana. Carmen would have been a tad (17) underage but would have been perfect in Sophie's role of a housewife mistreated by her hubby Claude (Bruno SX, his name spelled more appropriately Aissix in the credits). She find solace with Laure's character Eugenie, a wealthy noble lady who invites her to stay in her mansion and leave Bruno. Classy setting includes the lady's chauffeured automobile, which looks like a modern Daimler, as Sophie gets a ride from her new benefactor after her own car breaks down.

Hiding behind a generic jail-bait porn title, LITTLE SHOWOFFS turns out to be a rather interesting example of underground cinema, popular in the '60s but essentially pre-empted by hardcore porn (this is XXX content as well). It has certain elements in common with director Zachary Strong's straight-ahead porn movies, but in collaboration with Joanne Rosen (aka Molly Seagrim) the result here is quite offbeat.
The overlap between porn and "experimental cinema" is well-known, with the Kuchar Bros. and the Michael/Roberta Findlay team in the '60s plowing similar ground before latter turned to explicit sex. Similarly, Curt McDowell (of THUNDERCRACK! fame) had his foot in both camps. McDowell reportedly co-directed LITTLE SHOWOFFS, without credit.

I first saw this film many years ago when it was a single film but at some point, some-one decided to chop it in two and while most of the film constitutes Part 1, the second part was given a new scenario which is something to do with Don Juan being a descendant of Casanova. Anyway, this review is for Part 1.
The film is certainly lavish with its costumes and sets but the film starts off with a clip showing Gene Wilder and Donald Sutherland from Start the Revolution Without Me. After that we get to the main story which is the modern descendant of Casanova, played by John Holmes, inheriting a potent perfume which renders any female who smells it putty in his hands. This, of course is just what porn films are all about. Besides the obvious sex scenes this film takes on darker themes - the term, family relations, takes on a whole new meaning; and the scene with the three young ladies may be at odds with today's sensibilities. As a porn film though, this delivers the goods.
John Holmes gets to show off his legendary manhood in some hot scenes but for me the best is the one at the motel with Iris Medina. She is fabulous, so much so that it seems unlikely she could ever me a motel maid, but this is a porn film after all. This scene is not just sex but sexy as well. A missed opportunity was the scene with Susan Silver as Doctor Sharpe. This could have been a great scene if some-one had used a bit of imagination. Overall though, a good film of its type.

Ah, the late 70s Euro porn scene. Take a deep breath and sniff that sleazy, yet somehow sweet, air. This particular film is no worse and no better than most of the other examples of its kind (that "kind" being the light, frothy, sweet Euro porn film that doesn't seem to really exist anymore in this world of Christophe Clark and Rocco pain and degradation marathons).
The story is nothing to write home about: it's one of those "sex plane" type things. It's about a specialized airline that offers its passengers more than just peanuts and an in-flight movie. No, these passengers are here for the sex, doled out by the lovely hostesses of the title. What stands out here is the presence of the absolutely amazing Karine Gambier, who is at her fleshy, gorgeous best. She is such a free-spirit and one can't help but smile whenever she's on screen. She's not given much to do acting-wise in this film, which is a shame since she was one of the best pure actors in this genre (Brigitte Lahaie was good as well and was able to make it into semi-mainstream films; Gambier, although putting in jaw-dropping performances in films directed by Jess Franco and Edwin Deitrich, never quite made as far as her more famous contemporary.) All in all, a fun, sexy, hardcore film that is forgettable but enjoyable. A note for the more closed-minded viewer: there is a short gay-male sex scene in this, so, if you're not comfortable with your sexuality, you may want to skip this (or just forward past the scene).

Jean-Louis Vattier dreams about his lovely downstairs neighbor, Brigitte Lahaie, although his dreams occasionally turn into nightmares involving his hard hat co-worker Dominique Aveline. One particularly strange and violent sequence is not made any more watchable by some slow motion fighting accompanied by the usual 'arousing' sax music instead of more threatening tones. But since this entire film is one big incomprehensible trip anyway, the viewer had better prepare for more far out scenes. Pierre awakes to find himself married to beautiful blond Ursula White. Obviously their marriage is in trouble, with him living in a fantasy world of his own making while she, Janine, has taken a lover of the same sex (Liliane Lemieuvre as Rosette). Pierre spots Brigitte in a book store and begins to fantasize once more. The, erm, ejaculation shot is most definitely a fantasy! Then he goes home to dream about himself sharing Brigitte with his spouse. Well at least he hasn't completely forgotten about Janine. In return, she has arranged an appointment with a psychiatrist, Madame Gabrielle Dullan, an older lady, who non the less is as sexually liberated (or should that be unrestrained) as everyone else: she let's him fondle her bosom while he tells her his woes. Naturally, he drifts off into Lalaland once more. This time his dreams also include the shrink's maid, while her employer gets to watch.

Though promised in the 1977 CASANOVA end credits, like the next Bond film is announced, CASANOVA II arrived five years later with a thud. Its mix of old and new footage is a mess, but makes it more interesting to watch for a cinema structuralist like me.
