The film is bad, very bad. I won't be the one to dismantle the universal myth that elevated Ed Wood Jr. to "the worst film director in history." However, and precisely for this reason, perhaps we could leave a place in our videographic hearts for one of the last films directed by this prolific and delightfully indolent character, who is already part of an indelible legend.
Here, the plot (if it can even be called so) follows Margaret (played by the wonderful and voluptuous Uschi Digard), a young woman who finds herself in serious trouble, and who desperately flees from the authorities, seeking refuge in a lonely and isolated mansion in the middle of nowhere. However, what initially seems like a safe hiding place soon becomes an even more dangerous place. The film is set in the final stage of the filmmaker's career, showing an evolution toward erotic cinema with a clear focus on sexual exploitation, with elements of crime drama. The film offers only erratic and anarchic orgies and gives Uschi Digard as the backbone of the narrative. And, of course, showcases Wood's Jr. typical stylistic virtues at their best: none.

Danny and Shirley, a young couple suffering sexual problems, shows up at the house of Madame Heles in hopes that the witchdoctor can cure them. The problem is a rather hard on in the fact that Danny is having a problem rising to the occasion, which has left Shirley unsatisfied and gives her thoughts of ending the relationship. The Madame won't show up until midnight but thankfully there's a few other guests on hand who will try and tackle the hard job of saving the young couple.
Necromania was shot in the matter of days (if not one day) with the budget of $7,000. The film was shot in two versions, one hardcore version (53-minutes) as well as a softcore version (51-minutes), which is the one most people has seen thanks to various bootleg markets. The three minutes difference in running times is that of hardcore sex. We get a few money shots but there really isn't that much of a difference in the two. The soft version features mostly kissing and while I'm sure it would get an NC-17 rating today, it really isn't too graphic. This new uncut version does feature an extended ending as well as some more graphic sex.

The Holy Grail for many hardcore aficionados, the late Sam Weston's AN ACT OF CONFESSION (on-screen title) ultimately proves more interesting for sheer obscurity and what it a tad clumsily attempts rather than fully achieves. One can only wonder and marvel at what possessed the director – still in his fledgling "Sybil Kidd" phase – to make such extremely explicit account of a young 15th Century nun's struggle to remain true to her vocation while vivid visions of depravity perpetually cloud her mind.
Bear in mind that much of the adult industry at the time was controlled by the mob, many of their members still strongly adhering to their Roman Catholic upbringing. Historical account, though sketchy, specifically points to this fact as reason the movie was never theatrically released in New York and received only scant play dates on the West Coast. Availability thus far has been limited to a poor quality and presumably incomplete VHS release by Alpha Blue Archives in 1996, quickly withdrawn from sales, under pressure perhaps ?

There is little certainty regarding the existence of a "hardcore" version of this film. In fact, the one you see here already includes several shots with explicit genitals, and some simulated blowjobs and quite potent lesbian acts. I don't think you'll find a more explicit version of this film.

However, it should be noted that much of the adult industry at the time was controlled by the Mafia, and many of its members still firmly clung to their Catholic upbringing. The historical account, although fragmented, specifically points to this fact as the reason why the film never premiered in New York and only played for a few days on the West Coast. To date, availability has been limited to a low-quality VHS release and an HD remaster, which, according to some less than reliable sources, is incomplete and was quickly withdrawn from the market, perhaps due in this case to other types of pressure, more derived from the reactionary nature of most American legislators.

Sexploitation maestro Erwin C. Dietrich co-directed this feature film about women in prison who organize a baseball game against the guards. The inmates decide to use their sexuality to try to make extra money. How crazy! Who would have thought it?
Exactly, there's nothing groundbreaking here, and not much sleaze, but plenty of nudity and entertainment. Ann Perry-Rhine also directed the film, but who knows which of the two was more in charge? The truth is that this "softcore" version of the 76-minute film, conceived for the German network Starz and titled "6 Schwedinnen hinter Gittern" (something like "Six Swedish Women Behind Bars"), is quite unusual, as most of the sex scenes are softcore, although there are some shots of oral sex and some even more explicit scenes. For this reason, it is highly recommended to refer to THE ORIGINAL AMERICAN HARDCORE VERSION from 84', without cuts or subterfuges.

My God... the quality is appalling. If you look closely, this supposedly hardcore version is shorter than the one I uploaded. I'm not saying a hardcore version doesn't exist; in fact, nobody knows for sure. But if we have to rely on what we see here, I'm afraid we won't be able to draw many conclusions, since the viewing quality is awful, and there are hardcore scenes that could have been taken from any other movie and inserted here without us even noticing. I don't know, man, I wouldn't put much stock in this, but if I find out about anything remotely similar, I'll upload it here. Thanks for the info.
