Unlike other early adult movies such as DEEP THROAT and BEHIND THE GREEN DOOR, this fine combination of explicit sex and shoot 'em up thrills gets little respect even from genre fans. This is largely due to the brutal nature of the film's numerous rape sequences, commendably NOT of the 'they may protest at first' variety.
Most of the performers here made very few films (save for Levi Richards who made tons) and even beautiful blonde Barbara Bourbon, who turns in some effective acting as well as the proud, resilient farmer's wife fighting to protect her daughters from 'a fate worse than death', only made a handful of X-rated appearances, most memorably of course in Radley Metzger's timeless THE PRIVATE AFTERNOONS OF PAMELA MANN. Director "David Fleetwood" is actually sixties schlock producer Joe Robertson (THE CRAWLING HAND, THE SLIME PEOPLE, THE AGENT FOR H.A.R.M.), so the flick's inconspicuous professionalism in just about every aspect of production as well as narrative drive should come as no surprise. He went on to carve a niche for himself as 'female' (for the face value crowd) porn director "Adele Robbins" with movies like SWEET ALICE and INNOCENT SEDUCTION.

Anthony Spinelli, who appears on camera to bookend REEL PEOPLE, tried for something different by integrating non-pro talent with porn performers, yielding a "pro-am" film. He inadvertently encouraged perhaps the most pernicious trend in XXX films (and videos), the now dominant amateur, gonzo approach pairing self-appointed auteurs (John Stagliano, Rodney Moore and Jules Jordan the most successful) with pick-up women (and making the role of a director like Spinelli superfluous).
The film is suspect in that the gushy interview material from the amateurs seems fake. Most of them like to talk dirty (Spinelli's big hit TALK DIRTY TO ME must have had something to do with this), and the documentary nature of their participation is suspect. As they hump famous porn talent like John Leslie or Paul Thomas, the issue of "first-timer" becomes moot -either the resulting sex is interesting to watch or it isn't.
Ultimately there are eight sex scenes, counting a brief intro sequence of superstar Aunt Peg (billed misspelled as "Juliette" Anderson here) masturbating during phone sex, prior to her conveniently popping up to service the lesbian fantasy of amateur Kay from Frisco. Kay's "gee-whiz" interview is patently phony, but they do have a sensual love scene together, both wearing attractive black stockings.

Marga Aulbach's maiden attempt at cornering the couples film market for which she had the good sense to accept the assistance of Jack Remy. Best known for his superlative skills as a camera man, Remy has also proved himself a decent director with the likes of THE MISTRESS, GIRLS ON FIRE and LOOKING FOR MR. GOODSEX. His input on this joint effort must have been considerable as L'AMOUR turns out to be a far more fully realized project than Aulbach's subsequent solo flights HOW DO YOU LIKE IT ? and THOUGHT YOU'D NEVER ASK.
When ex-husband Vince (veteran Harry Reems) - whose business is in dire straits due to the spending habits of his new trophy wife Gloria (Angel) - fails to meet his alimony payments, Ellen Brewster (Kay Parker) decides to move back in with teenage son Mark (Tom Byron at the start of a very long-running career) in tow. Predictably, this causes friction for all involved, not least for Vince who still harbors feelings for his former spouse who is now dating his best friend, divorce attorney Jerry, sympathetically played (no mean feat, considering his profession !) by Jamie Gillis. Meanwhile, Mark falls deeply in lust with pretty diner waitress Pam (Shanna McCullough) whose efforts to elude her dad's strict supervision cause further complications.

Fitness instructor Jackie La Lay (a vibrant and personable portrayal by the striking Hyapatia Lee) runs a highly popular and successful health club. Since the female club members are going to be competing in a bodybuilding contest against rival clubs, Jackie encourages her gals to engage in all kinds of strenuous carnal activities in order to get and stay in shape for said contest.
Director Bob Chinn keeps the entertaining story breezing along at a brisk pace and maintains a likable tongue-in-cheek tone throughout. The script by Budd and Hyapatia Lee offers several amusing moments of amiable lowbrow humor and crams the plot with wall to wall copulation. Moreover, it's acted with considerable zest by an enthusiastic cast, with especially lively contributions from Bud Lee as affable club co-owner Jim Wilder, Robin Everett as the perky Kim, Erica Boyer as the sassy Shelley, Tigr as the lusty Susan, Shanna McCullough as the sweet Laura, Francois Papillon as hunky judge Arnold, and, in a very funny bit, Eric Edwards as a newscaster covering the big contest. Better still, the women all look extremely fit, toned, and desirable -- and any excuse to ogle Hyapatia's spectacular right'n'tight slender figure in a leotard will get no complaints from me whatsoever. The sex scenes are super hot stuff as well, with the passionate girl/girl make-out session between Boyer and Everett rating as a definite scorching highlight. Recommended viewing for Hyapatia Lee fans.

No doubt about it, NIGHTDREAMS stands as one of the greatest adult films ever made and a bona fide visionary masterpiece to boot. Prior to winning over the midnight cult crowd with their subsequent CAFÉ FLESH, the producing and directing team of Stephen Sayadian (a/k/a "Rinse Dream") and Francis Delia (a/k/a "F.X. Pope") all but revolutionized a genre in grave danger of turning stale with this bizarre, cryptic, borderline psycho-analytic (phew !) fable that gave way to a whole slew of inevitably inferior imitations, some of the better examples being Kim Christy's endearingly odd SQUALOR MOTEL and the late Chuck Vincent's SEX CRIMES 2084. While (debatably) more "conventionally" erotic than its follow-up, not to mention its seriously warped '90s shot on video sequels, the original continues to elicit the most disparate responses from whoever comes into contact with it. Be that as it may, love it or loathe it, NIGHTDREAMS remains a movie that's absolutely impossible to forget.

One of the best XXX films of the "Golden Age", SORORITY SWEETHEARTS is a real gem. It features an entertaining (funny) storyline, fine acting (especially by Linda Shaw and the late Lisa De Leeuw) and plenty of hot sex. Star Bridgette Monet can't act but she IS gorgeous. The guys in the main are typical pre-Viagra studs (impressive staying power but nothing to write home about in the looks department). As for the best scene, it's a tie between Linda and Bridgette's tender late-night coupling and the...ahem climactic deflowering of Bridgette's character. Seriously, what more could a fan of this genre want? I heartily recommend the re-released DVD.

Crude mobster Dutch (a lively and engaging performance by Harry Reems) gets dumped by his current squeeze Jessie (essayed with tart foulmouthed aplomb by Cara Lott). Dutch chooses sweet and naive cigarette girl Kitty (Ginger Lynn at her most comely and charming) to be his new moll. However, Kitty proves to be too classy for Dutch's liking, so he persuades the rowdy Rita (a hysterically vulgar portrayal by Amber Lynn) to teach Kitty to be a more trashy lady.
Director Steve Scott, who also co-wrote the witty script with Will Kelly, keeps the funny and entertaining story moving at a steady pace, offers a flavorsome evocation of the late 1920's setting, and milks plenty of laughs from the amusing sense of blithely lowbrow humor (for example, it's a hoot to see Kitty practice cursing in front of a mirror). Moreover, the enthusiastic cast have a ball with the wacky material: Herschel Savage does well as Dutch's formidable incarcerated rival Louie, Tom Byron contributes a likable turn as eager newspaper boy Jimmy, and Bully Bleu adds lots of extra sizzle as amorous bisexual maid Norma. The sex scenes are suitably raunchy and energetic, with the girl/girl set piece between Kitty and Norma rating as a definite scorching highlight. The jaunty swing band score hits the snazzy'n'jazzy spot. Tom Howard's lush cinematography gives this picture an attractive sparkling look. A satisfyingly salacious good time.

This porno version of SNOW WHITE has had amazing staying power -it currently ranks some 15 years after its release among the best-selling adult DVDs on the U.S. market. Reason is top-quality production values, a truly beautiful XXX actress as the heroine, and enough kinkiness, involving the dwarf actors, to satisfy the jaded tastes of porn fans.
Luca Damiano was an expert at lavishly produced Euro porn in the '90s. NOTE: The moronic IMDb commenter from Kentucky who insists on misidentifying films he's barely watched has called this and X HAMLET Joe D'Amato movies, when the credits clearly give Luca the honor, Joe having merely served as 2nd unit director. The point to be made is that Luca was committed to porn, whereas D'Amato, analogous to Joe Sarno, toiled away making dozens & dozens of XXX films and videos under protest when the marketplace shifted in tastes. His heart wasn't in it, and it shows in the mechanical results. Damiano on the other hand, having taking his nom de film from the greatest of all porn directors, Gerard, tried to make real movies, with quality costumes, storyline, top talent and attractive sets & locations.

Contrary to expectations, the passing of time has actually been kind to even some of Tobalina's lesser efforts, giving them the patina of nostalgia, helped in no small measure by slumming star casts in need of a paycheck. Case in point is this UNDULATIONS, a wannabe spoof of scandal-mongering TV shows that's actually little more than a collection of fairly energetic sex scenes with a bunch of people that longtime genre fans will surely welcome back. Following a steamy threesome involving Serena (top-billed though she's never seen again), an unidentified brunette with facial blemishes and Jamie Gillis that was probably left over from another shoot, we get to the story proper (such as it is) with a show devoted to sex called "Undulations", hosted by Susannah French (toothsome star of THE OTHER SIDE OF JULIE, billed as "Georgia Drugg", appropriate as there's some on-camera coke snorting later on !) and Mai Lin whose transfixed grin seems more desperate than ever.

This particular flick has excellent music, imagination, hot chicks but didn't manage exceed Jess Franco in craziness. On negative note I couldn't find English subs either. Another negative point is there is no feel of public life which I consider extremely important like in more famous "Key" by Tinto Brass.

This summer I watched a mainstream Italian thriller with a french actor and Bellissima Ferrilli and I was intrigued by the fact you can notice at once it was Italian. The same feeling can be made here: you can say at once it's Italian porn, especially by this Sallieri director. The picture is gloomy, dark, between sepia and black and white. The camera is always tilted, there is policeman, Mafia, church, old perverts, death beds, Honestly it's not fun at all but at least, there is exciting babes! Erika plays an tragic unfaithful mother of daughter Selen! Their awesome beauty is on the spotlight in this dark frame: Erika scene is pretty hot unlike Selen but Selen has a longer part and she is just incredible playing drama! However as it's a bit tense to watch, I won't see part 2, all the more than Erika is not here anymore.
