Depending on my mood, SEX WORLD is forever vying for top spot with THE DANCERS and NOTHING TO HIDE as the late Sam Weston's finest film, with EASY and TALK DIRTY TO ME as all time runners-up. So let's just consider these as his top five personal best then. Like those other titles, SEX WORLD stands as an adult classic that truly seems to have everything going for it.
The screenplay, consisting of intertwining story lines involving a large group of exceptionally well-played characters, is realistic and rich with incisive observation . Production values are on a par with anything pouring out of mainstream studios at the time. Editing in particular – with artistically composed and juxtaposed imagery – could very well be the best ever witnessed in the adult field. But holding it all together is Weston's subtle guidance, picking out tiny details that throw a whole new light on a dramatic situation and teasing once in a lifetime performances out of a superstar cast.

Quite possibly the most laugh out loud porn comedy ever made, running a close second to Radley Metzger's THE OPENING OF MISTY BEETHOVEN and this only because most of the sex isn't particularly stimulating (at least not in the, ahem, "traditional" sense as that aspect too provides ample fodder for your funny bone) nor was intended that way. It was the crowning achievement for the New England bred Amero brothers, two gay siblings whose cinematic credentials stretch all the way back to '60s sexploitation (BODY OF A FEMALE, THE LUSTING HOURS) before branching out into their own unique brand of hardcore with 1970's avant-garde oddity BACCHANALE and the flamboyantly funny DYNAMITE and EVERY INCH A LADY, both of which already extensively showcased their queer sensibilities. Still, nothing could prepare predominantly straight adult audiences for BLONDE AMBITION, a brazenly poof spoof of classic Hollywood musicals with big production numbers (well, as big as its reportedly $30,000 budget would allow anyway) alternating with intimate interludes that left little to the imagination.

Mandel, while she engages pretty explicitly in this film, any actual penetration in her scenes was a body double.

This was Bob Cresse' s first hardcore roughie shot in San Francisco. At that time the adult biz was not fighting the law against shooting adult films that had real sex acts in it in Los Angeles. Hardcore sex productions were tolerated in Frisco ,but, because of L.A. Bob could get in trouble if he showed if the film was shown in that area so he disguised his name.
John Leslie plays a good dick as he did later in Dixie Ray Hollywood Star. As Bob Chinn stated he was making a noir adult film . Remastered in it's widescreen version unlike the earlier s.w.v. version . The women of Frisco are being kidnapped by a competitive drug Lord played by Alain Patrick who drugs, hypnotises and rapes with the aid of his two things, Turk Lyon and Ken Scudder. While the other thing watches ,played by George Malo. Leslie searches to find the kidnappers ,but, not before he relaxes with a kidnapped women's sister played by Veronica Tay. Tanya Shea plays John Leslie's sister ,whom eventually kidnapped drugged and raped by blonde ,Enif Von Berdorf, to try to influence his sister to stab him.

First among equals must be this wonderful Harold Lime production that came hot on the heels of his similarly superb DESIRES WITHIN YOUNG GIRLS, the finest film the erratic Richard Kanter (a/k/a "Ramsey Karson") ever made. Sexy and sophisticated, it stands head and shoulders (first of the young'uns to crack a dandruff joke will have to chow down on my fist !) above all other attempts at carnal comedy. Little wonder when you realize that the people behind it had a film-making experience that stretched all the way back to the sexploitation heyday of the '60s. Lime had made the early nudie classic NOT TONIGHT, HENRY as "Ted Paramore" while director Gary Graver ("Robert McCallum" on triple X features) churned out many of the finer simulated sex dramas including the recently redeemed SANDRA : THE MAKING OF A WOMAN.

Lusty private detective Nick Popodopolis (an excellent performance by John Leslie) finds himself embroiled in a complex murder plot after he agrees to take on a case involving former major Hollywood cinema siren Dixie Ray (voluptuous redhead Lisa De Leeuw in fine deceitful, yet still tantalizing form). Nick relates the whole sordid affair to a boozy police lieutenant (a marvelously weary portrayal by Cameron Mitchell).
Director Anthony Spinelli does a masterful job of crafting a flavorsome 1940's period setting while keeping the engrossing story moving along at a steady pace. The smoldering presences of several sumptuous Golden Age favorites provides extra sizzle: Juliet Anderson as brash and predatory bisexual Adrian, Kelly Nichols as Dixie's lascivious estranged daughter Leslie, Hillary Summers as Nick's horny and insatiable secretary Carol, and Veronica Hart as saucy moll Sherry. Moreover, the raunchy dialogue and hot sex scenes ensure that this honey delivers the scorching goods.
