Eroticism is expressed very well with the film genre, and identifies the viewer with their own sexual behavior. More or less explicit erotic scenes in cinema have always existed, and there are many conventional film actors/actresses who have joined the trend, at some point in their careers, to stimulate the culture of provocation. Some films have been highly criticized for showing sexual scenes without a clear plot criterion, simply to attract adult audiences to movie theaters. Here I have collected a few of these films, some more transcendent than others, but all designed to awaken our morbidities, the most sublimes and the most perverses. Enjoy them!

Shinobu Himeno (the beautiful Shinobu Wakana) is a sweet young florist from Tokyo whose boyfriend ends up throwing her into prison, unjustly accused of complicity in armed robbery. Evidently, despite her innocence, all kinds of sexual and physical abuse will be perpetrated in the women's penitentiary, not only by the veteran inmates, but also by the corrupt guards and the warden herself. Rape, sadism, degradation… everything serves to intimidate the newest and weakest, who, in turn, become informers for the guards, in order to obtain a promised parole that never comes. The situation becomes unsustainable for everyone, and the place eventually explodes into a riot that leads to drastic and much-needed changes.
Junichi Suzuki's film aims to expose the supposedly corrupt operation of the Japanese prison system, but above all, it uses the flashback technique to explain, in a very concise but effective way, the reasons why each inmate ended up locked up there. From murderous jealousy to revenge for mistreatment and violence, the inmates must pay with their flesh for the injustices of a macho, medieval culture. The Japanese paradox is once again revealed here in the hypocritical way we're used to: while vending machines on the street sell us dirty underwear for our personal "delight," it turns out that showing any genitals is totally unacceptable and reprehensible. That's why, although we see very hot and erotic scenes here, we'll never know if, in reality, they're all eunuchs.

Anna (a beautiful and melancholic Florence Guérin) is a wife abandoned by a husband fully dedicated to his work as a lawyer. The family, which also includes his mother (an unpleasant old woman who only knows how to speak reproachfully), is well-off and has a maid named Angela (the sexy Trine Michelsen) who, little by little, gains Anna's trust by attending to her most intimate tasks. This circumstance, and the fact that Angela is frequently visited by her military boyfriend in the house to secretly grope her, under Anne's covert observation, leads the two women to share their fantasies and amorous anecdotes while they caress each other in the intimacy of the bedroom. Anna's sexual frustration, compared to her maid's supposed experience, is so overwhelming that she decides to seek out on the street what she doesn't receive at home from her husband. Thus, Anna forces a casual sexual encounter with a middle-aged man who enjoys her in her own car, while Angela, more cunning and unorthodox than she seems, plans how to satisfy Anna's needs by inviting a stranger to possess her in front of her. The game eventually turns into a drama, but also into a life lesson.
Without being a great cinematic work, it's clear that Salvatore Samperi intended nothing more than what is clearly shown: an erotic story, gently lesbian, and more explicitly heterosexual, that only attempts to navigate the recurring plot of the sexually abandoned wife, who seeks outside the home what she should have inside (pun intended). Let's not try to find metaphors or literary paradoxes; this is a simple film that will please anyone who enjoys the natural and unashamed presence of two nymphs of softcore cinema of the era: Florence Guérin and Trine Michelsen. The rest is there to waste film.

I came across this DVD while visiting the Netherlands. The sleeve of the DVD looked promising and it was filed in the shop under 'horror'. But I can't really classify it under that label. There are of course some scary moments but there's more going on. I guess that the director Stephan Brenninkmeijer had some kind of Giallo in mind. This is more a whodunit then a horror. Why I do refer to the giallo's is because in the torture room he used saturated green and purple lights. Reminded me of Suspiria. But the movie had on problem. There's a bit too much of talking going on especially when Stella (Chantal Demming) is visiting Mike (Victor Reinier). It's more about her past life then what is happening when she's caged.

A festival blurb declares: "A sexually unfulfilled young woman embarks on a series of graphic erotic encounters and becomes involved with a student of psychoanalysis who offers to put her under hypnosis. Pretentious smut for high-brows, a dirty old man's fantasies writ large, or a profound and daring exploration of society's sexual taboos? You decide."
It's easy enough to decide that this is not "pretentious smut for highbrows" (do highbrows like smut?) or a "dirty old man's fantasies writ large." It is far too beautiful and intelligent and thoughtful for that. It's an odd film, which combines S/M, religious ecstasy, and some basic information about cosmology in an attractive package. Perhaps only a French filmmaker could have made this. And only a man still conventional in his notions of sexual roles could put lovely nude women on display having sex with each other and masturbating with men in charge and think it a bold exploration of new possibilities.

I saw this at the Munich Film Festival and was very affected by it. It is not a perfect film -- others have already mentioned the clichés--but the overall effect was very powerful. The main actress was brilliant as well as beautiful as the disturbed 14 year old and I predict she will be a future star. The director had some interesting things to say during the Q and A session afterwards. Commenting on the explicit sex scenes she said that it was realistic and that teens nowadays were having more and more extreme sex as a direct result of porn. "I guarantee teens here have seen double and quadruple penetrations online!" "Enjoy" is the wrong word for the experience once has when watching this but it is a film that should be watched by parents and teens everywhere. Is this the kind of nihilistic world we are leaving for our future generations? As a side note--I am sure this film will be banned in many countries (which is a pity) as it could be seen, by the more conservative, as child pornography.

It's curious, even ironic, how this French film has sparked such a heated controversy due to its violence and explicit sex. It seems as though no one has noticed that, unlike many films, this one doesn't glorify violence at all; it simply shows what becomes inevitable in the idiosyncrasies of its two protagonists. Both Nadine (Karen Lancaume AKA Karen Bach) and Manu (Raffaella Anderson) suffer daily cruelty as sex workers, prostitutes, and part-time porn artists. The gang rape of Manu and her drug-addicted friend depicted here is completely different from the clichéd "they'll end up liking it" rape scene found in most adult films. While one of them screams and resists, the other adopts a facade of indifferent resignation, cleverly robbing her rapists of the sadistic thrill. The scene goes on much longer than anyone would like, and it's hard to watch, but it's part of the film's leitmotif.
When Manu and Nadine meet and embark on their violent road trip, knowing they won't be able to get away with it in the end (Thelma & Louis), sex becomes a source of liberation for them. Like so many fugitives in any buddy-crime movie, they take what they want, whenever and however they want, naturally discarding (not always violently) their casual partners after a shag. One of the most common accusations in the porn world is that explicit sex scenes dehumanize those who perform them, but in this case, nothing could be further from the truth.
Former hardcore actresses Lancaume and Anderson are magnificent in their roles, and the sex they share (real sex, of course) enhances their characters, making them more complete. The "cinema vérité" rawness of the digital video format in which it was shot, interrupted by sudden flashes of style when violence erupts (an artistic choice to give the viewer a sense of the power and pleasure the women derive from their actions as an escape from their monotonous lives), draws the viewer uncomfortably close to the action. Again, that seems to be the goal.

I am not going to enter the dichotomy about whether it is necessary to be a woman to film a good lesbian tape, if you have to become a gangster to shoot "pulp fiction", or if the artistic capacity of a director depends on its gender or condition. I am a hetero man, and "Below her mouth" I liked. I have understood it in its most romantic and feminist context, and not so much because April Mullen explains the supposed reality of a lesbian adultery, but because it is well shot. With elegance. Few dialogues and a lot of style and beauty, daring, and overflows. Sex scenes are beautiful, and have that explicit and morbid look that can rarely be enjoyed in gender cinema without falling into vulgarity or absurd censorship. Another thing is his script, so simple and ordinary that it does not seem to pretend to convey anything. In any case, one of the best erotic-explicit films that I have seen in recent times, along with Laurent Bouhnik’s Q -Desire-).

First and foremost, there has been some comment regarding the final explicit scene regarding oral sex whereas the man's penis is shown to be in the woman's hand not in her mouth. This is a framing device that matches a scene at the beginning of the film whereas we quite clearly and unquestionably see the penis in her mouth (the first so-called "shocker" of the film). Since we can guess that both scenes were shot at the same time we can easily deduce that there was no attempt to fool the audience, what the director wanted us to see is quite literally what we see, and what the actors and director chose to show us. We have determined from the first scene that neither the actor nor the actress mind performing this scene in front of the camera (be mindful, even though her mouth is on the man's penis, there is no actual sex). Quite clearly the FINAL scene was NOT an oral sex scene but merely an erotic stroking of her chin upon the man's penis (a common technique in sensual massage, which tells us that those commenting have had much less experience during their lives than the actors did while filming this movie!). This is an important detail however because it tells us much which happens between these two scenes...and literally the moral of the story. At the beginning of the film we meet Marie, she wants sex, lusts for it, and her mate is unable to match her desire. Her mate seems quite satisfied with the sensual contact, but for one reason or another (never quite clear) sex is something that is not on his agenda. The shock of the audience seeing her pull his penis out and provide oral massage is merely because we have not seen this type of explicit scene in mainstream cinema. In comparison to other scenes in the film it is really quite nothing, and a similar scene at the end would have proven anticlimactic. She spends the rest of the film searching to quench her sexual desires, yet sensuality is something that is not on HER agenda. So she has meaningless sex considering herself just a "hole" until by the end of the film she has experienced all that she is going to experience for a while, returns to her mate, and meets him on his terms, for a night of sensual pleasure...namely the final scene as described above (with penis seen in her hand--yes you were suppose to see it there!)​

Once again, with the everlasting stigma of being misnamed porn, "Q (Desire)" is in fact a raw and unfiltered exploration of sexuality, desire, and the search for connection. The two protagonists are key players in this intricate emotional tapestry, erratic and poorly written, certainly, but whose psychologies reveal the depths of the human experience. The bravery of actresses Déborah Révy and Hélène Zimmer in a disgustingly hypocritical world, where reactionary social conventions label the most explicit exposure of the human body as pornography or indecency, is something we should all reflect on, rather than ostracizing them in shame (we have barely been able to see either of them in future projects due to a fundamentally sexist and even misogynistic pigeonholing).
"Q (Desire)" is an erotic drama that intertwines the lives of several people in a social context marked by the economic crisis. The film centers on Cécile, a 20-year-old woman who, after the death of her father, finds herself helpless and seeking solace in her friendships and a series of sexual experiences that confront her own fantasies and desires. Cécile explores complex relationships and the search for pleasure and connection with different characters. Among them, the insecure Alice, misunderstood by her rigid and overprotective mother, yearns for a great romance, although her relationship with Matt doesn't offer the security she seeks. Through encounters and disagreements, the story delves into human desire and how it can disrupt people's lives, with Cécile serving as a catalyst that connects everyone and turns the lives of those she meets upside down.

I was totally enthralled with this film from beginning, to end. There really isn't much dialogue in this film, but I believe that is what makes it that much more emotional, and sincere. This is true life, it feel totally real- the situations and the sex scenes, not at all like other wannabes. I haven't seen a film like this in a while. It was very refreshing. I won't lie, I'm a sucker for love stories, and this one just happen to be done really well. I recommend this film to those who want to see something different from all the weak love films out there. I've seen quite a few, and Iknow those who decide to watch this film will not be disappointed.

Abel Ferrara's feature debut is a hardcore work about a wealthy New Yorker (Pauline LaMonde) who writes various letters to Gipsy, her tarot reader friend (Dominique Santos), about her various and repeated sexual encounters and experiences, involving several men and women.
Ferrara has preferred to ostracize this film, having changed its name in the credits to "Jimmy Boy L." And whenever he's asked about "his first film," he's actually always referring to his second: "The Driller Killer," a film that has quite a bit in common with this one (horror, violence, etc.). "Wet Pussy..." simply includes various hardcore scenes of real sex, basically to add the morbid interest demanded by the era, including one of the most scandalous scenes in which a drunken father is sexually exploited by his two pubescent daughters.

New inmate Marie (Maria Rohm) arrives at an island prison in the women's sector and receives the number 99. The inmates are controlled by the sadistic lesbian warden Thelma Diaz and Governor Santos (Herbert Lom) and submitted to torture, rape and lesbianism. Apparently, this film "kicked off the genre in a new direction" and "was a big box office success in the U.S. in 1969." I find this somewhat hard to believe... because as much as I love exploitation and Jess Franco, this just is not all that great. Even with veteran actor Herbert Lom, it more or less has just a group of women wandering around doing a whole lot of nothing. Not surprisingly, Franco continued to make more films in this genre, probably turning a quick profit: Women in Cell Block 9 (1978), Ilsa, The Wicked Warden (1977), Barbed Wire Dolls (1975), Women Behind Bars (1975), and Sadomania (1980).

Anyone who has seen Porno Holocaust will know exactly what to expect from Erotic Nights of the Living Dead, as the two films feature basically the same cast and plot lines. Joe D'Amato is often held in high regard by cult horror fans, and he has made some excellent classics in the genre; but to be honest, I really don't know where he's coming from with the whole porn/zombies thing. Last time I checked, the living dead aren't sexy and mixing an average zombie film with a load of porn isn't exactly a guaranteed recipe for success. As mentioned, the plot is basically the same as the one in Porno Holocaust and focuses on an isolated island. A group of sex starved (or not) people travel to the island for some reason or another, but naturally the island is infested with zombies. This doesn't stop the travellers having sex with each other every five minutes, the zombies do prove to be a bit of a nuisance. That's about the long and short of the plot really...
