Aka Lady Caligula in Tokyo, this is a super kinky tale of a housewife who discovers her hubby cheating and begins a sexual odyssey after meeting an old friend, the titular Madam Caligula. Directed by smut master Ohara, this one covers all the perversion bases, and with minimal, if any, optical fogging. At only 60 minutes it does feel a bit short though. The Impulse dvd transfer looks to be another tape transfer but is not unwatchable. If you like your pinku on the sleazy side, don't miss this one.

The women are then forced into a secluded villa, where they are made to 'confess' their sexual sins, naked, in a cellar.
It's an intriguing, if not bizarre, premise, and the film certainly delivers on the adult content. The standout scene involves the sultry Danièle Troeger, who plays one of the disillusioned village women, Sabine. In a steamy display, Sabine is seen seducing her captor, using her feminine wiles to great effect.

It's a small and pink world, that she can fall for a criminal and can easily save him from being charged for a new crime.

Devoid of the impetus toward plot and production values that would return by the genre's '90s Cinemax reincarnation, early '70s softcore filmmaking in the run-up to hardcore is, in retrospect, just dull. The barebones plot finds a couple women hanging around the house on a Sunday afternoon. They're interrupted by a trio of escaped convicts who barge in and commandeer things, the two guys splitting off with one girl each and the woman member lounging around in the living room with a dildo. Eventually, a third guy shows up (a friend of the girls?) and becomes the willing partner to the female felon. Devoid of any narrative drive or ambition, THE FUGITIVES is about as uninspired as porn gets - a one-day-wonder cranked out in a lazy afternoon at someone's house.

WENDY'S (not to be confused with the hamburger chain, which maintains a far higher level of consistency in its product) has three talkie sequences, all poorly done with bad sound editing, uneven sound levels, bored/flat readings by star Eve Orlon & co. Though Nick began his career doing talkies a decade earlier with NUDES ON CREDIT he apparently forgot the technique due to relying on MOS shoots ever since, and it shows here. Film appears to have been conceived (to borrow that odd term from the recent trailer for the James Cameron production SANCTUM, "conceived in 3-D") as a softcore film. Opening scene has Eve Orlon as Wendy humping her creepy boy friend and red-monochrome closeup shots are inserted in the action to make it XXX. Orlon was a popular hard porn actress, but she does not participate in any insertion shots at all in WENDY'S. Later in the film there are several hardcore sex sequences, but they are merely shot like loops, thrown into the film with Orlon merely watching as a voyeur, the oldest trick in the book.

"Bordel SS" recalls the time when hardcore films were just that; real movies, shot on actual film stock. Most of them were still pretty weak, despite having the larger budgets. This WWII porn epic is an exception; competent, professional camera work, realistic period costumes, fine soundtrack, and best of all, a script that is both interesting and historically accurate. THIS is a true example of how hardcore can become art. What is so remarkable about this one is, even though it shows hardcore sex, (erections, on screen penetration etc), there are no cheap close ups of genitalia. Normally in porn films there are endless scenes where the camera zooms in on genitalia. But here, those cheap shots are noticeably absent. The result is an erotic film that is sexy, without being vulgar. The sex is still on the screen, but here you can always see full bodies, and faces, and therefore don't lose connection with the characters and parts they are playing. The camera work is excellent, so much so that you feel that you are watching a mainstream film. Featuring excellent music that is appropriate to the period, as well as realistic Nazi uniforms that look better than costumes in some Hollywood productions.

This is another entry (the sixth) into the long-running German "Schulmadchen-Report" films, and it's a good place to start if you're not too familiar with the series. Once again it is organized into a series of vignette-stories (although they have dispensed with the man-and-woman-on-the-street interviews)all being told by a teenage couple who have been caught en flagrante in the the band room and are trying to illustrate how "sexual mores have changed these days"(i.e. fathers are apparently pimping out their daughters now). As usual, the vignette stories swing wildly from absurdly melodramatic to kinda sexy to very silly.

Well, this is certainly a debate that would require a whole thread to capture the opinions of many participants, but I think that the concept of "explicit," in this context, exists when something is clearly and decisively expressed, without the imperative need for it to be pornographic.
These last two films you mentioned may not depict the explicit act of sex, but they do show the explicit intention of that act. Therefore, and always in my humble opinion, a purely erotic scene can also be understood as explicit depending on what it intends to convey, beyond mere nudity. This thread is full of such examples.

It's not Oscar-worthy but it's fun and she comes off so sweet that you can't help but believe her in the part. The supporting players are all pretty good as well with Yana Nirvana and Marilyn Corwin excellent in the parts of the ugly step sisters and Kirk Scott as a dumb Lord. There are several musical numbers that are decent but nothing great. What makes the movie are all the softcore moments and this is certainly what attracted us to the film many years ago. I don't think more than five seconds go by without some sort of nudity and for the most part it's quite erotic whenever it's not trying to be funny (like the scene with the two girls bathing while their father is out hunting a certain creature).

Structure is built around a festival/orgy to the Goddess Venus, accompanied by two dwarfs painted pink and blue representing her son Cupid and daughter-in- law Psyche. Apparently Cimber had seen Fellini's influential film "Satyricon" and foolishly emulated the maestro. Each of the 12 skits running from Aries through Pisces on the calendar is a sort of burlesqued sex vignette, with many multiple role cast members utilized, that range from insulting to a strong strain of homoeroticism. It is the Gay (or Gay- baiting depending on your point-of-view) content that marks "Astrology" as different from most porn, even today, when Gay and Mainstream (latter includes lesbian and transsexual porn) are completely segregated both at the production level and especially at the marketing level.
In the homoerotic camp is a snake dance by a nude guy (carrying huge snake) under the sign of Aquarius, leading to a soft-core ballet with a girl whose big dark nipples were the high point of the film for me. The ballet is accompanied by Flamenco music, typical of the mindlessness of the entire show.

A young woman loses her job and finds money on the nightstand after a one nighter which is her introduction into prostitution. This hardcore effort from France is a real head turner. This one could best be boiled down as a roughie, but it's far more complicated than that. It's a hardcore picture where none of the sex is really presented as sexy, challenging the viewer to keep with it as the character study melodrama keeps ramping up and getting more extreme. So as a porn it may not be a total success to some looking for a wank, but it's a hell of a picture if you're looking for a sleazy drama.
The director's cut titled LES MARIE-MADELEINE runs 106 minutes and has been unseen since 1976 until the recent Blu-ray edition. The theatrical cut of the film was titled THOROUGHLY MODERN MARY-MAGDALENE (onscreen in English rather than French even though the film was never dubbed for export) ran only ninety minutes, deleted two scenes referencing Marie-Madeleine's young daughter and cuts for pacing. The theatrical cut also includes a full end credits sequence while the director's cut has a black screen with exit music of the same length.
