Paul Vecchiali's work is an acquired taste, as he is a filmmaker who marches to the beat of his own drum, never fashionable or popular. Produced by a famous pornographer of the day (Jean-Francois Davy of "Exhibition" fame) it's a rare mainstream (sort of) movie that carefully integrates explicit hardcore sex content into a strong story.
Like other of his films, notably "Femme Femme", Vecchiali seems most influenced from the Nouvelle Vague by Jacques Rivette, with his strong heroines and challenging mix of camp with seriousness. Here we have Myriam Mezieres, an uninhibited performer who takes Paul's challenge to do strong soft-core sex scenes to heart, as a trench-coated hard-boiled detective, with most of the many prominent roles going to similarly tough women. Her case is to investigate what's going on with Helene Surgere's adult son, who we see at the opening of the film starring in a hardcore black & white stag movie that leaves nothing to the imagination.
With plenty of shoot-outs and mock-violence, Vecchiali creates a strange, campy world for her to move in, revolving around a nightclub where drag queens perform on stage alongside cis-females, wigs are on everybody, and cast members sometimes burst into song or dance without provocation. There are several orgies integrated into the convoluted plot, both staged both soft-core and hardcore, and ultimately when the story is resolved and a scandal blasted across the front page of the newspapers, we see Myriam walking away with the imagery of a serious film as conclusion.

I think we're confusing real sex with explicit sex again. If, during simulated sex, the erect penis pokes into the partner's face but does not enter the mouth. In my humble opinion, that's not real sex, but explicit sex. In the title of the topic the word explicit, not real.

At first this sounds like a good thing. 1970s porn usually has so silly story lines and so low production values, even Franco could have made it better. This time he was able to try anything sexy without worrying about the rating. Even his annoying sudden zooms are in place in a 70s porn flick: back then everybody used to zoom in on the genitals an awful lot. And these years in Switzerland were a strong period for Jess Franco, with relatively decent budgets and finer work than his usual. This disaster is close in time to Barbed Wire Dolls, which is good by exploitation standards and to Love Letters of a Portuguese Nun, which is rather good by any standards.
The Swiss businessman Robert visits a strip club-brothel and decides to sleep with one of the girls, black-skinned Marga. Then disaster strikes: while he actually sleeps the girl jumps from the window. While she's in coma in the hospital, the police arrests him for attempted murder. His wife Lola does not want to let him rot in prison (which would be very understandable in my opinion) but decides to investigate the background, to clear his name and then leave him as a free man. So she applies for work in the brothel, which is now lead by Lena, an exhibitionist hobby-stripper and also the Lesbian girlfriend of Marga (who may look like a cheap whore -- as Lola refers to her -- but actually she owns the place).
At this point the direction and cinematography seem to be rather good: everything happens in the same small rooms with a claustrophobic feel. The compositions are dominated by strong black-red-white and the bright stage lights are always shaded with clouds of cigarette smoke. Even the shaky camera work seems to emphasize Lola's anxiety. Regretfully all this remains so till the end of the film and consequently gets tedious rather soon. (It is strange in a Franco film, but there is no tropical island sequence here.)

This the familiar story of an older but handsome man who has a beautiful wife (Rebecca Brooke), but is tempted by a younger girl, in this case the teenage daughter of his wife's friend who comes to stay with them (Beatrice Harnois, who looks like, but isn't, Leanora Fani). The twist here is that he is not initially interested in the sexually aggressive, petulant nubile (even though she spends about half the movie walking around their home stark naked), so SHE sets her sights on seducing the wife instead! But just to needlessly complicate matters, the guy is a schoolteacher who is being pursued by another scantily clad Lolita (played by an actress who looks like, but isn't, Annie Belle). This girl is one of his students and the niece of his colleague, who keeps bring her and her weird androgynous brother (who looks like, but isn't, the weird, androgynous kid from "Damned in Venice") to the couple's house. You would expect the whole thing would end in divorce, a lesbian conversion, and/or SOMEONE going to jail for corrupting a minor, but then this is a male fantasy above all else where there's nothing that can't be smoothed over by some hot three-way sex!

I'm surprised that I am the first to review this documentary considering that there were 91 others who rated before me. I was completely unaware of this until I came across it on a download site, I am so glad I did.
This excellent production is exactly what should be shown as part of sex education for pupils and students. It is matter of fact, no holds barred, and utterly informative, for both males and females.
Some will say it didn't cover other relationships, that is a point. However, the basic acceptance is, a male and female relationship, with the emphasis on relationship. It still holds true for male/male, and female/female, based on everything mentioned in this video.
What I liked most was, while the physical was shown, it was only a part of what this documentary was saying. Emotion, trust, and companionship were always at the forefront. It also depicted that, no one had anything to prove, especially the macho male.
The bond between two people is the starting point, how that bond is advanced and reinforced collectivly, is what creates a good sex life. A love life is even better, there IS a difference.

Three girls in search of love, happiness and money share the same apartment and the same bed. Money is particularly scarce, and so they are freelance in horizontal business. They like to tell about their strange sex experiences and do not leave out any details. They work in the same nightclub and look for partners there for their erotic adventures. Their joint midnight strip show is the highlight of the shed. One day, Mayte suddenly disappears. Did she finally find her millionaire, or was she kidnapped by girl traffickers and shipped to an oriental brothel...
Jess Franco film that has three hookers sitting around telling stories of their previous nights work. One of them gets picked up by a so called artist but he turns out to be a pimp who kidnaps the girl. The other two go to her rescue and take revenge on the pimp.
As with several Franco movies, Girls in the Night Traffic is a softcore version while Wilde Lust is the hardcore one. For starters, both films are completely lazy even for Franco standards when it comes to the story. The story that I mentioned above makes no sense in either version and what story there is adds up to around seven minutes while the rest of the running time has sex. Three beautiful women making out is always erotic but when watching a movie it becomes quite tiresome after a while. Girls runs 68 minutes while Lust runs 93 and I'm sure you know what that extra running time is made of. It's rather difficult to say which version is the "director's cut" because the soft version has cuts in the print, which are obviously where the sex goes. The hard version, during some scenes it's clear the inserts are from other movies while some are real with the current actors. Either way, a mess.

Somewhat notorious hardcore film from director Roberta Findlay is pretty much a take-off on Roman Polanski's REPULSION. In the film, the mentally disturbed Karen (Tara Chung) is left home alone and soon begins to have hallucinations that slowly drive her insane and forces her to attack several people that she comes into contact with. When I say attack, that includes both sexually and in a more violent nature.
A WOMAN'S TORMENT has a small cult following thanks in large part to the director's whose own popularity seems to be growing more in the digital age but the film is also known for some rather bizarre and violent moments. I'm not going to sit here and call this a "good" movie but at the same time it's somewhat refreshing seeing Findlay trying to more than your typical 70's bump 'n grind film. This one here certainly tries to be something more than that and I give the director credit because there are some pretty good things here and especially her directing skills. I thought the scenes involving the woman's slow breakdown were shot extremely well and I also thought that the director did a good job at showing this woman coming undone.
The sound effects were actually good, the editing from reality to the hallucination was very good and overall I thought the film had a pretty good atmosphere. The best thing about the movie was Chung who was at least believable in the role even though she never gets good enough to where you'd buy her as a real performance (or something that you'd see in a non-hardcore film). With that said, there are a few problems with the film and the biggest is the lack of story. After a while we just get one sex scene after another and anything dealing with a plot or character development just stops. Still, this is certainly a better than average picture that fans of the director will want to check out.

Generally I don't like to just regurgitate what everyone else is saying about any given film; but you can't write a review for Thundercrack without stating that the film is weird. The closest movie I've seen to this one in terms of style is probably the Greek oddity Singapore Sling in that both films combine a classic styling with some real sleazy sex. However, even Singapore Sling doesn't come close to the weirdness of this film; how and why this film ever got made is anyone's guess as on paper; a two and a half long black and white film about a bunch of people engaging in perverted sex inside a creaky old house cant have sounded all that good...but while the film is not for everyone, it certainly stands tall as a very interesting slice of cult cinema. The film doesn't exactly have a plot, and starts by focusing on an old mansion where we are introduced to its insane owner. From there, we move on to a group of strangers who end up stranded at the mansion. The rest of the film features all the involved parties as they engage in a whole host of sexual activity.
Curt McDowell's film almost seems to be a parody of classic haunted house horror; only instead of ghosts and ghouls, we get sex and sleaze. I cant say that the film works particularly well on the whole as a film; it's long and drawn out for a start and it can be hard to watch due to the fact that it's so weird. The copy I have looks like it was recorded with a video camera inside some grotty cinema so that didn't exactly help my viewing experience either. However, I didn't go into this film expecting easy viewing, and while I did have some idea of what the film might be like; this is a film that you really have to see to have any idea what it's like. The sex features often and it goes a bit further than just the usual - adding to that is the fact that it's all so casual too, which helps to increase the potency of the strangeness of the film. I have to say that at two and a half hours, the film really it too long and I did lose interest a bit at times so perhaps the shorter two hour version would be an overall better viewing experience. All in all, Thundercrack is a film that has to be seen to be believed and it comes recommended if only for that reason.

A couple of thugs rob gold from the peaceful miners, then they steal their women. This leads to fighting, making up, a threesome in a brothel.
Credited to "Hans Christian", who has his own IMDb page, but apparently is one and the same as cameraman Henning Schellerup, the movie looks good, has decent location photography, and even the period dress rings true. It's simple-minded in script, but no dumber than any of dozens of Charles Starrett B-Westerns of the '40s and '50s cranked out by Columbia.
Looking a bit like both Val Avery and William Conrad, William Guhl is effective in the title role, as a 19th Century huckster traveling the West with his plain-Jane but sexy daughter Jenny (an unidentified actress) selling a tonic for $1 a bottle which seemingly has aphrodisiac qualities,.
He formerly had a gold mine in a small town he returns to, but evil Garett (Tony Vorno, who looks a lot like soft porn star Gary Kent) has stolen his supposedly tapped out mine. Minor plot line here has Carstairs settling old scores with Garett.
At least in the ABA version, this film is an unusual example of a successful spice-up splice job, wherein fully XXX insert shots logically extend the sex scenes into what 1972 audiences really wanted to see. Dance hall girls (or are they really prostitutes) Marsha Jordan and Kathy Hilton were soft-core stars, but with doubles in new footage latter convincingly goes hardcore for the viewer's imagination, as does the Jenny character. One drawback however is that for fellatio footage the performer doubling for each actress does not look like the original performer.

I liked this movie. It's very dark in how it show us the world of today, don't get your hopes up. You are left on your own and nobody is going to help you.
The story is not that special and does not really leave an imprint, but the pictures and the mood make it a nice view. The gloom and the feeling of being unable to make a difference kind of get to you. It have the basics for it's genre: rape (repeatedly), torture, violence, nudity (but censored - kind of funny here in the western world where some nudity is OK, but the violence showed in this movie would make our censors go nuts), help from people you don't expect. Downright Evil bosses of some strange trafficking organization. Drug abuse, Malplaced showering scenes. Evil for it's own sake.
This is not a movie that I'm gonna see over and over again but I would recommend it to my friends (but not to my parents). If you like the genre this is slightly more than one hour well spent. It have a nice twist at the end and does not finish like you expect.

I learned of "3 a.m." from the documentary "They'll Love Me When I'm Dead," during which it was revealed Orson Welles assisted Gary Graver -- Welles' cinematographer for "The Other Side of the Wind" as well as directing "3 a.m." under his Robert McCallum moniker in editing one of its sex scenes so Graver could get back to work on "Wind."
That the director of "Citizen Kane" helped edit a hardcore movie is a juicy morsel of gossip, but it's not the sole reason to see this movie. Made at the height of the porno chic era, "3 a.m." plays more like a domestic drama than a sex film, which is to say it's more of an adult film than a trashy porno movie. The axis on which the movie's story turns is Kate (Georgina Spelvin), a spinster living with her sister Elaine (Rhonda Gellard) and who's been carrying on a 15-year affair with Elaine's husband, Mark (Frank Mauro, who resembles a more attractive Jamie Gillis). Then Mark is accidentally killed, leaving Kate trying to keep the surviving family -- including Elaine's "teen" kids Stacey (freckle-faced Clair Dia) and Ronnie (Charles Hopper) -- together and her secrets hidden. And also have sex in the shower with a random hippie chick (Judith Hamilton), who otherwise has nothing to do with the story.

The 1970s "porno chic" must've truly been a "Golden Age of Porn;" 1976 alone witnessed two such features partially inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice books, and they're both preferable to some of the smut that passed for mainstream adaptations of the children's literature during the same period. Sure, there's no pornographic sex in the books, but neither are there bubbly characters breaking into mostly dull song and dance numbers every few minutes. The other Alice porno of 1976, "Alice in Wonderland: An X-Rated Musical" contains both and, thus, is something of a perverse Disney-esque production. "Through the Looking Glass," on the other hand, is actually rather intelligent--so is even some of the hardcore sex. Although it takes its title from the second Alice book, this film isn't an explicit Carrollian adaptation, with themes of incest, a Dantean Inferno, and old-dark-house tropes that have nothing to do with Alice. Yet, all of this is engaged through the mirror, along with other hints of references to Carroll's texts, and manages to interpret the books in one of the usual more competent ways, as a parable for growing up.
