Shorts by eight directors examine the boundary between Eros and porn. A feral man masturbates with the aid of a whirling crankshaft; a sunbathing woman phones a doctor for a playful house call; a man with a quartz penis goes through lovemaking, castration, cannibalism, and restoration; a mouth and tongue, close up, lick viscous liquids of different colors and consistency; we watch a grainy film of a lesbian threesome, their eyes and genitalia crudely scratched out; a director interviews ten men, choosing one who picks among six actresses for a porn shoot; ink wash drawings become animated scenes of copulation; last, while an infant cries, a strobe illuminates adults at play.
Certainly politically correct, that is a danger sign in any film. Politically correct by focusing mostly on men and porn. This film was almost just like any other porn film. The tiny difference being the "art". Strobe light was the "art" in We f...ck alone (it was way too long. I got the "message" after 5 minutes). The "art" in Death Valley was none what so ever. Just a guy masturbating outdoors. I read on IMDb that the "art" was the fact it was shot in that particular valley. If you use your imagination, you can see art in everything. That is wonderful. Hoist was least like a porn, but 15 minutes of a man rubbing his penis to a machine shaft was OK ("art" and everything) for 5 minutes. In the film Impaled we saw the audition room instead of the "bed". It was amusing to see the young guys expressing their sexual desires. The "art" in Impaled was the bad lighting. I would have chosen the virgin. I went to the film expecting nothing, and I got nothing. A man cannot ask for more on a night at the movies.

The sets are wonderful. They are lavish and look authentic of the time, except as if a madman on acid was given a gigantic budget and told to "go at it!" Peter O'Toole is wonderful as the aging Tiberius. Malcolm McDowell gives a great performance as the young Caligula who kills his way to the throne of the Roman Emperor and then soon leads a legacy of terror. The supporting actors do a fine job yet, most of the young ladies were actually Penthouse Pets and were there for eye candy and irrelevant sex scenes. Depending on which film you are watching, the uncut or the R-version, some scenes are extremely graphic. I would usually always recommend the uncut version as opposed to the chopped one, but in this instance, the full length film is purely indulgent. Scenes of sex and gore were added to satisfy the producers (Penthouse) and the expected audience, not to add anything to the story. However, I am and will always be a fan of excess, so get the full version! The story is strong and keeps you interested. McDowell is charming throughout, which is quite the feat considering he murders family members, rapes and molests men and women, and sleeps with his sister. For fans of excess and sleaze, i highly recommend. Viewers who are purely interested in the reign of the notorious ruler might want to skip this one.

A brush with death leaves Emanuelle wondering if it is perhaps time to hang up her camera for good.
A good film by sleaze-master Joe D'Amato? No chance. Wait a minute, this one actually isn't too bad. Emanuelle's (notice, one "m", not Emmanuelle ©) forays into the aristocratic decay lifestyle get weirder and sleazier, culminating in the snuff footage in the end (modeled after Pasolini's "Salo", how ironical). It's not all bleak however, as Joe has a sense of humor. Case in point, Emanuelle and cohort having sex in the next room to an orchestra playing, and hysterically editing the sex with close-ups of the geek musos playing Ludwig's fifth. Or what about the ending? Emanuelle getting a vacation as a reward for her investigative journalism, only it turns to be a movie decor. It is only a movie after all.

Young woman looking for a self-expression in a variety of sexual relationships. As sex films go this is top drawer. It has very good production values (aside from the atrocious English dubbing, but that wasn't the Italian filmmakers fault). The music especially is excellent--it's interesting and varied and not the usual sub-Kenny G. crap found in sex films. The cinematography is also very good (and it's 35-mm film rather than digital video). The lead Loredana Catanada is absolutely stunning and a truly natural beauty (sans the over-sized silicone tits that come standard with most porn stars today). She was also a good enough actress to eventually break into the mainstream (despite the fact that some of her sex scenes here would technically be considered hardcore). As for the the plot, well, it's serviceable if very generic. Cantanada is the titular (and ass-ular)"she-wolf" who picks up one anonymous man after another, sometimes two at a time. She won't tell them her name or she gives them a fake one. The conflict arises when a naive, directionless college student falls in love with her and tries to get her to change her ways.

There is no plot to speak of, and the guys and gals indulge in various humping activities whenever they can get it. They are by and large not unattractive although the director seems keen on his shaven havens. There is little eroticism and the whole affair is basically mechanical.

As they were abandoned by the trickster, they plan a "sweet" revenge, and make a macabre plebiscite to find out what to do with it. Adam joins a dinner with the ladies, after dinner, he learns the reason for the invitation and tries to escape, but is captured by the host's henchmen. He is tied, at the mercy of Clarisse's madness; but at the exact moment of executing her plan, she is prevented by Julio, who runs away with Adam, obtaining from him the promise of a night together if they can escape.
In the movie, Adão is rich and strong, and makes sex with a lot of girls. He has sexual relationships with six girls, each one is minutely shot. It is not a pornographic movie like the actual ones found in the internet, it is quite different, not only by the story, but also by the way it is shot. Only in the first scene there is explicit sex, the others are simulated (or seems so).
The comedy has great laughs, most of them during the sex scenes. But the serious acting is poor, not spontaneous, seems to be forced.
As the pornographic aspect of the movie the actresses are hot, but Davi Cardoso is very narcissistic, and many sex scenes focus on him, which is very unpleasant for male audience. There are a couple of shots that causes disgust like the scene he receives massage from a gay butler, or the one the camera focus on his flaccid dick.

If you are sensitive, this is not for you (and the ending tries to top it all off ... as if we didn't know that character had some issues overall)! While putting so many people in one place (to supposedly "cure" them), with many sex fantasies, may not sound like the best idea - it is necessary to have an excuse for all the ... fornicating/sex acts.

BLUE MAGIC proved a problematic project for the usually laid-back Larry, not in the least because of supposed star Candida Royalle wreaking all kinds of havoc he could not possibly predict. Already an established adult actress as well as an outspoken feminist, she had congenially collaborated on Revene's earlier romps SIZZLE and FASCINATION. She had found an attentive ear when voicing the desire to write her first screenplay, expressing her views on womanhood in general and female sexuality in particular, playing out for contrast against an early 20th century time frame, an era when women were traditionally seen though rarely heard. His interest piqued, Larry put the wheels in motion, blindly trusting Royalle to keep up her creative end of the bargain. As the date of shooting grew near, cast and crew readily assembled, he still had little more substantial than a few pages of scribbled synopsis to work from. When badgered, the inexperienced authoress claimed total ignorance to the demands of scripting, believing her work already done ! Parading around the palatial premises like a legend in her own mind yielded another unforeseen side effect by the time Larry came to shoot Candida's big sex scene as she materializes amidst a crowd of revelers to lure the detective to his doom. Technically bisexual but mostly gay, Wrangler would prove an iffy prospect under the most relaxed of working conditions. He turned out fatally limp and the encounter looks suspiciously faked. Fraught with peril from day one, it's a tribute to the talents of all others involved that the movie comes out looking as good as it does.

Sex therapists Inge and Sten Hegel discuss some of the letters they have received from people around the world and features actors portraying a few of the acts described therein.
Pioneer pornographer Torgny Wickman followed his successful white coaters (including LANGUAGE OF LOVE) with this variation on the theme: more closely resembling "reality" programs like "An American Family". It's well done, even the fake parts.
My bias is a bit different, since I consider all the recent Reality TV shows as fake. But back in the early days of feature-length porn there was never any question about ersatz, since porn performers were the talent pool.
That's the case with LOVE-PLAY, with an obvious segment starring the team of Jack Frank and Kim Frank. They were popular explicit sex performers who made several XXX films for director Mac Ahlberg, and their explicit scene here is more of the same.
The bulk of LOVE-PLAY is well-lensed (by future Bergman cinematographer Tony Forsberg) and concerns a family of four, viewed vérité style going about their normal life. They are presented as healthy, not nudists but often nude, and basically well-adjusted. It helps present sex in an open-minded context.
There is a segment about lesbianism, but generally the film is not sensational-minded. Of course, the inevitable visit to a live-sex show provides the usual sexploitation/mondo content, but even then the mixed audience reaction does not seem as smutty as the typical presentation (of dirty-old men types) one gets in American or British movies.
