Eroticism is expressed very well with the film genre, and identifies the viewer with their own sexual behavior. More or less explicit erotic scenes in cinema have always existed, and there are many conventional film actors/actresses who have joined the trend, at some point in their careers, to stimulate the culture of provocation. Some films have been highly criticized for showing sexual scenes without a clear plot criterion, simply to attract adult audiences to movie theaters. Here I have collected a few of these films, some more transcendent than others, but all designed to awaken our morbidities, the most sublimes and the most perverses. Enjoy them!

Shinobu Himeno (Shinobu Wakana), gets thrown in the clink after a botched robbery and once there she suffers all the indignities that the other inmates and the guards throw at her. Pretty much a by the numbers WIP plot, it checks off all the boxes for this genre, sadistic warden and guards? Check! Convict on convict action? Check! Prison Riot? Check! And that old standby, body cavity searches? Check!(this one you gotta see). At 69 mins, it moves at a good clip, never lagging, and keeps the sex scenes and degradations coming. Recommended for Nikkatsu aficionados and WIP fans in general.

Vicenza, 1956. Beautiful Anna, a lawyer's wife, feels abandoned by her husband, Giacomo. They live with his sick mother and she doesn't like this. She badly wants to have a child, but she is infertile. She is very shy and introverted. Their maid, Angela is the opposite, and Anna grows closer to her. She convinces Anna to try increasingly daring erotic games and gradually the two women begin a relationship which allows the wife to lose her inhibitions, and to humiliate herself.
Florence Guerin is the only reason to see this overly repeated tale of a neglected and repressed wife. She is stunning from head to toe and I could not get tired of looking at her. It is not a bad story about a randy maid who convinces Camille (Florence Guerin) to let her bathe, fondle and make love to her, while her older husband is out working as a lawyer much of the time. The problem is the maid is into all kinds of activity and she is making a power play so she can use Camille. Camille goes all the way and falls into practices that are against her nature. We get to see all of her doing everything within the soft core parameters. But the ending is a pleasant surprise as the tables are turned. In the meantime, Guerin just oozes with sensuality and stuns with her beauty.

I came across this DVD while visiting the Netherlands. The sleeve of the DVD looked promising and it was filed in the shop under 'horror'. But I can't really classify it under that label. There are of course some scary moments but there's more going on. I guess that the director Stephan Brenninkmeijer had some kind of Giallo in mind. This is more a whodunit then a horror.
Why I do refer to the giallo's is because in the torture room he used saturated green and purple lights. Reminded me of Suspiria. But the movie had on problem. There's a bit too much of talking going on especially when Stella (Chantal Demming) is visiting Mike (Victor Reinier). It's more about her past life then what is happening when she's caged.
I can't classify it with Amer (2009) or Les nuits rouges du bourreau de jade (2009), 2 Belgium Giallo's. Therefore it should have some more red stuff in it. But what this flick do offers in stead of 'nederhorror' is a lot of nudity. Sometimes it's close to explicit sex. Chantal Demming comes really close to soft core. She's almost nude all the times. In fact, all the girls in this soft core movie goes full frontal. There are a lot of close ups of pubic hair and shaving. One scene even got some actual sucking by Chantal.
The weirdest thing for me was that you see actors that I knew from Dutch series like Westenwind and Baantjer going in their nudies. Strange that it didn't had any subtitles, how can it be sold outside the Netherlands? I saw the uncut version but if it will be sold in the UK for example it will be heavily cut due the nudity scene's. Still, I kept watching to know who was behind the 'cage'.

It's easy enough to decide that this is not "pretentious smut for highbrows" (do highbrows like smut?) or a "dirty old man's fantasies writ large." It is far too beautiful and intelligent and thoughtful for that. It's an odd film, which combines S/M, religious ecstasy, and some basic information about cosmology in an attractive package. Perhaps only a French filmmaker could have made this. And only a man still conventional in his notions of sexual roles could put lovely nude women on display having sex with each other and masturbating with men in charge and think it a bold exploration of new possibilities.

I saw this at the Munich Film Festival and was very affected by it. It is not a perfect film -- others have already mentioned the clichés--but the overall effect was very powerful. The main actress was brilliant as well as beautiful as the disturbed 14 year old and I predict she will be a future star. The director had some interesting things to say during the Q and A session afterwards. Commenting on the explicit sex scenes she said that it was realistic and that teens nowadays were having more and more extreme sex as a direct result of porn. "I guarantee teens here have seen double and quadruple penetrations online!"
"Enjoy" is the wrong word for the experience once has when watching this but it is a film that should be watched by parents and teens everywhere. Is this the kind of nihilistic world we are leaving for our future generations?
As a side note--I am sure this film will be banned in many countries (which is a pity) as it could be seen, by the more conservative, as child pornography.

Why are people so outraged by BAISE-MOI (which literally means F**K ME, the English language title is a travesty) ? Is it because of the explicit sex (far more fleeting than that shown in any porno tape freely available at most corner video shops), the stylized ultra-violence or the combination of the two ? Unlike some films, this one doesn't in any way glorify violence though, it merely shows the sad inevitability of it as far as its two main characters are concerned.
Both Nadine (Karen Lancaume aka Karen Bach) and Manu (Raffaella Anderson) routinely endure violation both in word and deed on an almost daily basis as sex workers, prostitute and part-time porno performer respectively. The gang rape of Manu and her drug-addicted friend shown here is totally different from the clichéd they-may-protest-at-first type of rape scene encountered in some adults only features. While the other girl cries and screams throughout (and is ever more horribly abused because of it), Manu adopts a facade of indifferent resignation, cleverly robbing her rapists of their sadistic thrill. Rest assured that the scene goes on a lot longer than anyone would want it to and that it is very painful to watch, which is the whole point of it.
When Manu and Nadine meet and embark on their violent road trip, fully aware that they ultimately can't 'get away with it', sex becomes a source of liberation to them. Like so many guys on the lam in any criminal buddy movie you can think of, they take what they want, when and how they want it, casually discarding (not always violently) their casual partners post-orgasm. One of the most common accusations at porn's address is that the explicit sex scenes dehumanize the people performing them, but here that could not be further from the truth.

I am not going to enter the dichotomy about whether it is necessary to be a woman to film a good lesbian tape, if you have to become a gangster to shoot "pulp fiction", or if the artistic capacity of a director depends on its gender or condition. I am a hetero man, and "Below her mouth" I liked. I have understood it in its most romantic and feminist context, and not so much because April Mullen explains the supposed reality of a lesbian adultery, but because it is well shot. With elegance. Few dialogues and a lot of style and beauty, daring, and overflows. Sex scenes are beautiful, and have that explicit and morbid look that can rarely be enjoyed in gender cinema without falling into vulgarity or absurd censorship. Another thing is his script, so simple and ordinary that it does not seem to pretend to convey anything. In any case, one of the best erotic-explicit films that I have seen in recent times, along with Laurent Bouhnik’s Q -Desire-).

First and foremost, there has been some comment regarding the final explicit scene regarding oral sex whereas the man's penis is shown to be in the woman's hand not in her mouth. This is a framing device that matches a scene at the beginning of the film whereas we quite clearly and unquestionably see the penis in her mouth (the first so-called "shocker" of the film). Since we can guess that both scenes were shot at the same time we can easily deduce that there was no attempt to fool the audience, what the director wanted us to see is quite literally what we see, and what the actors and director chose to show us. We have determined from the first scene that neither the actor nor the actress mind performing this scene in front of the camera (be mindful, even though her mouth is on the man's penis, there is no actual sex). Quite clearly the FINAL scene was NOT an oral sex scene but merely an erotic stroking of her chin upon the man's penis (a common technique in sensual massage, which tells us that those commenting have had much less experience during their lives than the actors did while filming this movie!). This is an important detail however because it tells us much which happens between these two scenes...and literally the moral of the story. At the beginning of the film we meet Marie, she wants sex, lusts for it, and her mate is unable to match her desire. Her mate seems quite satisfied with the sensual contact, but for one reason or another (never quite clear) sex is something that is not on his agenda. The shock of the audience seeing her pull his penis out and provide oral massage is merely because we have not seen this type of explicit scene in mainstream cinema. In comparison to other scenes in the film it is really quite nothing, and a similar scene at the end would have proven anticlimactic. She spends the rest of the film searching to quench her sexual desires, yet sensuality is something that is not on HER agenda. So she has meaningless sex considering herself just a "hole" until by the end of the film she has experienced all that she is going to experience for a while, returns to her mate, and meets him on his terms, for a night of sensual pleasure...namely the final scene as described above (with penis seen in her hand--yes you were suppose to see it there!)​

Set in Cheg, France and in a social context deteriorated by a countrywide economic crisis, the life of several people are turned upside down after they meet Cecile, a character who symbolizes desire. She is a 20-year-old girl whose father recently died and she sets about to bury her grief by having sexual relations with various lovers of people that she knows and does not know. Chance is her boyfriend and a petty criminal who loves her, but he cannot satisfy her constant carnal desires. His friend, Matt whose girlfriend Alice refuses to have sex with is an auto mechanic. Cecile also gives advice to her friends about how and how not to pleasure men and women. Unable to find inner peace through various sexual encounters with Chance, Matt and even Alice, she finally discovers another path to healing.
Wow, other reviewers see this as pornography. Take another look. It's about connection and disconnection in French society, in which sex and discussions about sex are used as a central vehicle for showing relations between men and women in French society (or at least younger ones). Note that the director never shows anything above the waist of the nude women in the shower chattering away about sex and men. Note that all the characters are missing each other needs and hence at odds and frustrated. Note the scene in the plaza where everyone is self-absorbed. Note that the author starts the movie with a message that he still believes love is possible.
Where the movie fails most is not in its failure to do more than vaguely allude to the background situation - unemployment and a shipyard strike. Why those are even there is never clarified. Rather, it was the director's inability to bring the story to completion without implanting an implausibly happy ending that left me wondering what was the point of it all. If French social relations are pretty much the same as they were 25 years ago, then the director's gotten quite a bit right. Unfortunately, he didn't know where to go with it. That's why, in spite of the good acting (for the most part), I gave it only six stars.

I was totally enthralled with this film from beginning, to end. There really isn't much dialogue in this film, but I believe that is what makes it that much more emotional, and sincere. This is true life, it feel totally real- the situations and the sex scenes, not at all like other wannabes. I haven't seen a film like this in a while. It was very refreshing. I won't lie, I'm a sucker for love stories, and this one just happen to be done really well. I recommend this film to those who want to see something different from all the weak love films out there. I've seen quite a few, and Iknow those who decide to watch this film will not be disappointed.

Ferrara's first feature-length film is this hardcore effort about a rich New Yorker (Pauline LaMonde) who writes to her tarot card reading friend (Dominique Santos) about her various sexual encounters. These encounters include various men and women and we also get a sequence in a gas station bathroom where she pretty much has to rape the worker. Ferrara has pretty much forgotten all about this film as he had his name changed in the credits to Jimmy Boy L. and whenever asked about his first film, he actually talks about his second, THE DRILLER KILLER. It's funny but this and THE DRILLER KILLER actually have quite a bit in common. THE DRILLER KILLER was a horror film that contained gore and violence yet it pretty much tried to stay away from the genre as if the director was just forced into making it. I think the same can be said here because we get hardcore scenes yet they're filmed in a way as if the director was saying he'd much rather be doing something else. This might be why he's also refused to talk about the film or have anything to do with it. The sex scenes are all rather ugly without any decent camera-work but this could be said about the entire film. It looks incredibly cheap and seems to have been put together on the run. Ferrara does manage to create a rather weird atmosphere but the voice over narration and silly dialogue doesn't help matters. One of the most outrageous scenes has a father passing out drunk and then his two daughters rape him. Yes, not step daughters but actual daughters. There's a rumor that Ferrara was involved in hardcore scenes but I really don't think that's the case. He appears in a scene but I think it's rather obvious, due to the editing, that there's a stand-in doing the actual work. In the end, there are certainly much better hardcore movies out there so this here is going to be for Ferrara fans who want to see the film he wants nothing to do with. I'm not sure what he has against this movie but it's certainly a lot better than THE DRILLER KILLER.

New inmate Marie (Maria Rohm) arrives at an island prison in the women's sector and receives the number 99. The inmates are controlled by the sadistic lesbian warden Thelma Diaz and Governor Santos (Herbert Lom) and submitted to torture, rape and lesbianism.
Apparently, this film "kicked off the genre in a new direction" and "was a big box office success in the U.S. in 1969." I find this somewhat hard to believe... because as much as I love exploitation and Jess Franco, this just is not all that great. Even with veteran actor Herbert Lom, it more or less has just a group of women wandering around doing a whole lot of nothing.
Not surprisingly, Franco continued to make more films in this genre, probably turning a quick profit: Women in Cell Block 9 (1978), Ilsa, The Wicked Warden (1977), Barbed Wire Dolls (1975), Women Behind Bars (1975), and Sadomania (1980).

Anyone who has seen Porno Holocaust will know exactly what to expect from Erotic Nights of the Living Dead, as the two films feature basically the same cast and plot lines. Joe D'Amato is often held in high regard by cult horror fans, and he has made some excellent classics in the genre; but to be honest, I really don't know where he's coming from with the whole porn/zombies thing. Last time I checked, the living dead aren't sexy and mixing an average zombie film with a load of porn isn't exactly a guaranteed recipe for success. As mentioned, the plot is basically the same as the one in Porno Holocaust and focuses on an isolated island. A group of sex starved (or not) people travel to the island for some reason or another, but naturally the island is infested with zombies. This doesn't stop the travellers having sex with each other every five minutes, the zombies do prove to be a bit of a nuisance. That's about the long and short of the plot really...
This film is slightly better than Porno Holocaust, but only slightly. The two films suffer from the same main problems: Erotic Nights of the Living Dead is also far too long, and it takes too long for anything to happen too. The sex is mostly quite boring too, which obviously does the film no favours. The film features two of exploitation cinema's biggest stars in George Eastman (also the writer) and Laura Gemser. Gemser, however, doesn't turn up until we get over the halfway point. There's a fair bit of gore in the film, some of it quite hardcore, but it's clear that the sex is the main focus. The zombies themselves are the typical Italian style crusty looking things; not very convincing! As mentioned, the film is far too long and the plot really drags on numerous occasions, which is a shame. There really isn't much to this film; it's very much what you'd expect, so if you're looking for something substantial then look elsewhere! I can't really say that I found Erotic Nights of the Living Dead all that enjoyable so I won't be recommending it, but I guess some sleaze fans may get a kick out of it.
