This movie is not for children to begin with, but instead it is for couples looking for a great sexual comedy. Fanny reminds me in this movie of Goldie Hawn and her husband reminds me of Tim Conway. I think the best way to explain this movie is that it is a wild jump from country to country with crazy adventures and hot men and women. A kind of Monty Python and Benny Hill comedy hour with lots of crazy ideas and situations. A must see for couples and anybody wanting a great movie night.

One of the most popular and copied movies of all time, The Most Dangerous Game, gets a erotic remake by sleaze director Jess Franco. The idea sounds very daring and dangerous, but thankfully, The Perverse Countess is a complete winner! From the very hot girls on display (Lina Romay is pretty much naked through the whole movie... Shocking I know!) to the exciting horror elements, this one is a stylish masterpiece of the genre. The camera moves are pretty wild, and the locations are beautiful. The music score is very nice to listen at first also (although it gets a bit repetitive by the end...) The cast is pretty damn awesome also, full of Franco regulars. As the rich owners of the island where the game is played, Alice Arno shines in the role of the evil countess, while Howard Vernon plays her husband, in his usual charming self. The impossibly gorgeous Lina Romay plays the latter victim of the eccentric couple, while Tania Busselier from Ilsa: The Wicked Warden shows up to get naked somewhere.
Very recommended movie, as it's one of Franco's absolute best. It's sad this overlooked classic doesn't have a DVD release in ANY language...

THE HEALERS on DVD features commentary & interview by filmmaker Eduardo Cemano, both of which are blatantly self-serving. While he keeps emphasizing how successful and funny this film was ("big in Canada"), the viewer is likely to disagree.
Basically what he has created and is so proud of is that mythical beast: a porn film with full hardcore action but photographed and edited to remove all XXX content (i.e., insertions, money shots). The crappy result is identical to fully hardcore films of the period, just cheating the paying customer out of the payoffs in each scene. This is a familiar practice from bowdlerized pay-cable showings (Playboy Channel or Showtime After Dark) of porn films in soft-core cuts.
So like his better, Joe Sarno, Cemano ("a nice Jewish boy from the Bronx" despite his Italianate stage name) makes hardcore porn films but insists on copping out by claiming he's not interested in doing so. This is not hypocrisy per se, merely self-delusion.
And the first delusion on screen in THE HEALERS is Cemano's belief in himself as a comic. The film begins with 6 minutes of unfunny shtick as the auteur, eyes closed and dominated by his Chico Marx hairdo, pours out drivel while pretending to hump a skeleton. He then proceeds to interrupt the film proper with such nonsense, making it extremely difficult to watch.
When he's not present we have porn actors ad libbing their way through an hour of burlesque sketch in the doctor/nurse vein. The humping is identical with boring XXX sex, only we don't actually get to see the private parts commingling (or a blow job for that matter).
Cemano claims a distinction between his cast and porn regulars, even claiming that his lovely discovery Margo was a one-shot, yet this isn't true: she starred in a far better (but just as sloppy) XXX film the same year THE TRIALS OF CHICKIE TETERAZZINI. And his favored-nation star Ultramax is one of the most familiar personalities on the NYC porn scene.

A male visitor to a sex shop keeps putting coins in a slot machine showing stag movies, ranting about how he's not interested in pornography at all but just in the way these movies are made (an excuse certain genre scribes apply to this very day...) while getting more turned on, not to mention hilariously foul-mouthed, with each successive segment. The seven sexy stories are largely played for laughs. Segment 1: Four men play bowling at bowling alley and goes to changing room one by one to wash their hands. There a young woman entertains them.Segment 2: A female nurse sees the circumcised penis of a patient during an operation and visits him in the hospital bed to get its taste. Segment 3: A female sculpturer seduces a shy man with a large penis in a sauna and takes him to her workshop. First she makes a sculpture of the penis and then tastes it. Segment 4: A passenger seduces an air hostess and she takes her into the bathroom of the plane. Segment 5: A young shy man watches old black-white porn movies and peeps a young girl masturbate in the next room. Later the girl opens his door and joins him. Segment 6: A woman masturbates while a man next door plays violin romantically. Segment 7: A man can't sleep because of the couple doing sex loudly in the next room. He records 4 hours fake sex sounds pretending to be his and makes them listen to the sounds the following night. The French and Italian purveyors thereof had a tendency to cover up their motives with mock cultural and artistic alibis. Dietrich had no such qualms admitting he was in the money-making business, simply supplying what audiences demanded : plenty of attractive unwrapped starlets in healthy humorous scenarios. Without blowing his own horn, the man also delivered some of the most lavish production values within the genre at that stage. Regular Elite contributors, the father and son team of Walter and Peter Baumgartner were on hand for the movie's amazingly eclectic soundtrack and its bright and colorful camera work respectively.

This softcore effort from cult pinku-eiga director Hisayasu Sato concerns the perfect couple. Of course, they don’t know that they’re the perfect couple because they each keep a “terrible” secret from the other. This prevents them from enjoying a normal sex life. Its title suggests a Cheech & Chong comedy, but the porno Up in Flames makes that duo's movies look like Merchant Ivory productions in comparison. It's a lesson in how difficult it is for untalented people to do comedy.
Stolen from the underground comics, this farrago toplines its erstwhile director John Seeman as an 80-year-old huckster calling himself Mr. Natural, who is proud of having conquered syphilis by using his home remedies. The Freak Brothers and Fat Freddie (who isn't fat at all) have non-adventures trying to raise rent money and go to bed with any woman who'll have them, while the drug "jokes" are improvised and merely silly. Released on Something Weird's Dragon Art Series, Vol. 9, this one does not live up in the slightest to the hilarity promised by the shill who wrote the video's liner notes.
The sets are consistently ugly and so is the cast, with routine sex delivered between the one-liners. None of it is creative or diverting in the slightest, and among the more cryptic elements is a constant demand throughout of "be back here by sundown" or "have the money ready by sundown", as if the cast had been suddenly stricken with an idee fixee. Put simply, Dustin Hoffman as Rain Man has an IQ at least 10 times that of these disgusting characters.

Have you already seen FALLO? The women look great. Virginia, especially, is of an overtly plumper shape, slightly unusual even for Brass' world. Brass' humor is always decadent, coarse, mean, offensive, grotesque and violent and, therefore, also abstract. He might not be the greatest—yet he certainly is the most interesting and intriguing and naughty director. His stance is to take the lowest and surely meanest and most degrading view of most everything human; at this, he's far better than the artistic impostor Pasolini. This trend of porn comes from the cinematographic respectability—Fellini (--e.g., the fetish of plump divas--), Visconti, Cavani (--Antonioni filmed prettier stuff than these, but in an entirely other climate--); Bertolucci comes from the same sex—saturated atmosphere. Brass varied his approach, and took a coarser and plainer way in his last movies (--when it's not over—sentimentality--). His pornography has long been a theme of my writing.

Mette & Soren are young lovers. Mette's father hires Soren (not knowing he is his daughter's boyfriend) to write a script for a 'realistic' porn movie. Soren discusses this with Mette, arguing that if realistic it would be boring as it would be about ordinary people. Mette convinces him that ordinary people don't have boring sex lives - her family and their friends for instance. She spies on her father, his business partner and her mother, and gets a job in a massage parlor for research. Soren photographs two girls and a guy in a porn shoot. Mette and Soren also spend a lot of time together while Soren works on the script. When Soren presents the finished script, it is rejected as 'too unbelievable' by the very people it is about.
I sought out this Swedish movie via a recommendation from Daniel Ekeroth's excellent recent book "Swedish Sensationfilms" (although, come to think of it, he doesn't so much recommend this as he does include a VERY appealing picture of star Marie Ekorre). Unfortunately, when I got it, it turned out to be--despite having TWO different English-language titles--entirely in Swedish with no subtitles. But it isn't too hard to follow the standard porn scenario here. A young Swedish man is enlisted by his employer to make a pornographic movie. He happens to be secretly dating the employer's teenage daughter (thus one of the English-language titles), who--when she isn't shagging him silly--becomes interested in helping with the project. To do so, she does a lot of real-life "research"--like spying on her own father with another woman through a keyhole (thus the other English title and, I believe, the literal Swedish translation). Much sex and (perhaps) some hilarity ensues.
