Most likely, the website will be closed, and movies that were not released will be banned in 2019 The films have been heavily criticized around the world.
A criminal case in Ukraine
On April 22, 2020, the Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office of the Kharkiv region opened several criminal cases due to possible torture of children on the set of "Dau"[25]. They also opened a case under the article on the manufacture and distribution of products promoting violence and brutality. According to law enforcement agencies, minors who participated in the filming of the film "DAU. Degeneration", could cause physical pain or moral suffering. Later, the creators of the film project stated that the minors were not subjected to suffering, and their participation took less than two hours. Rental in Russia Of the 13 mounted paintings, only 10 were selected for Russian distribution: six episodes received a rental permit, and four did not receive a rental certificate in November 2019 from the Ministry of Culture, because they "contain materials promoting pornography"[27]. After his refusal, Khrzhanovsky turned to Vladimir Medinsky, who was then Minister of Culture. He asked to assemble an independent commission that would be ready to review the decision, and noted that explicit scenes in films are "part of the artistic image and cinematic language." In February 2020, the creators of the project announced that they had filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Culture and demanded respect for the right to freedom of creativity[28]. Rental in other countries In the spring of 2019, a five-hour version of the film was shown behind closed doors in Ukraine. Then a message appeared that the rental version would be three hours long and would be released in 2019. To demonstrate films in Berlin as part of the Berlinale, Khrzhanovsky planned to recreate a replica of the Berlin Wall, but the city authorities did not allow this[29].
