When released theatrically in Hong Kong in 1995 this movie broke new ground in Asian cinema as it featured unsimulated sex by the main actors, who were mostly unknowns with few film credits. It mixes being a serious film commenting about the social/ideological situation at the time in HK and China with a daring skin flick pushing the boundaries cinematically. The lead actress, Julie Lee, wrote and directed the film.
