VEF is not down. Europe implemented a series of restrictions to censor various sites like Vintage erotica forum, since they don't comply with "European regulations" for "sensitive material." The website works perfectly, but it's inaccessible from certain countries. And VPNs don't work. Can a site like VEF afford to lose perhaps 50% of its members and users living in Europe ? It therefore needs to ensure it is compliant.

I thought VEF (and Planetsuzy) got hit by the recent Dutch police take down of Motherless for CSAM? Not that VEF and PSuzy were involved in said crimes, it's just that they were unlucky enough to get caught in the same net. Their server was literally in the same block as Motherless, hence them going offline. There's a thread (i didn't save the link so you'll have to look for it your self) on Vipergirls where the mods from VEF & PSuzy are providing updates on the ongoing work to migrate their database. Also, both sites were, thanks to their age, using very old architecture (or something IT speak) and that's why migrating is such a pain. Alas, any potential permanent loss of both sites would quite honestly be catastrophic. VEF is literally the Library of Congress when it comes to vintage stuff, and for me personally, softcore stuff. PSuzy has the most comprehensive and accessible library of porn scenes anywhere on the net. As said, it'll be a catastrophe unheard of in porno net.

Thanks for the news—which is both good and bad. The fact that it coincided with the implementation of European standards misled me.

I'm not up to date with whatever thing the Euros have been doing, but I can say that my VPN often uses European servers (amongst others) and thus far have not seen any impact from any sort of "European standards".
