"Kanda-gawa inran senso" (or "Kandagawa Wars") is a debut work of now pretty famous Japanese filmmaker Kiyoshi Kurosawa. Most know him from his later movies like "Sweet Home", "Cure", "Seance" or "Kairo" and if you're looking for something similar - forget it. These are totally different films comparing to this one. "Kandagawa Wars" was a first commercially distributed Kurosawa's movie. It hadn't much success, but nobody was hoping for it actually. Why? Well you have to see it just once to understand why - Kurosawa wasn't taking this movie seriously while making it, but that's the main goal. The director clearly wanted to make a silly "pink film" in the best "pinku" traditions (which means a lot of erotic scenes) and he have done it all perfectly!
The story starts when one of the student girls Masami witness sexual intercourse between mother and son while spying on other people through her binoculars from the window in the opposite apartment block, which stands in the other side of a small Kanda river (that's why the movie is titled as ""Kandagawa Wars"). She calls her friend Aki, which lives in the same apartment block as Masami, to witness this incest act, but Aki missed it at the first time. It's not a big problem, because the next evening mother and son are doing the same dirty things again, so this time Aki saw the whole thing with her own eyes. Two girls decide that it's just intolerable and they have to rescue poor boy from his evil nymphomaniac mother at any cost. That's where the war between two girls and the mother starts...

But in the end of the movie they decides to take revenge on the brutal guards and flee, and together with some armed rebels they finally get their bloody revenge. (5 out of 10 from me) Mark: I saw a version of this film which was called "Blood for Liberty" which was dubbed in English. A sequel with Linda Blair followed in 1985 with the title "Savage Island"

A group of new prisoners on the way to the jail are ambushed and are convinced to join a group of revolutionaries seeking to overthrow the prison guards and take the treasure of jewels for themselves.
There are two versions of this movie. Here is the explicit one, where they inserted hardcore scenes to the mix.
Why they did that? There was a time when people couldn't get there hands on (no pun intended) adult material. So some distributors wanted those scenes so they could get a different audience or maybe even play XXX cinemas. This shouldn't be the main reason for you to watch the movie obviously (also it is not widely available at the moment). There are worse movies, but there also way better prison movies. I can imagine the sequel being way better for example.

The only doctor who shows her understanding persuades her to be released under his supervision. Cathy soon finds herself traveling from the frying pan into the fire…
This is a truly powerful piece of cinema that also happens to be X-rated. Armond Weston is an accomplished director and made the subtly effective horror film, “The Nesting”, quite a few years after this. “The Defiance of Good” aka “The Defiance” is a pictorially and psychologically claustrophobic work that was a freak amongst its adult brethren, even back in 1975, because it looked like a real film and was anchored by a strong central performance (Jean Jennings).
Echoing “The Story of O”, the film is exceptionally well shot, scored and performed. Lincoln, who played a murderous miscreant in Wes Craven’s “Last House on the Left” and forged his own career as a porn director after this watershed work, is frighteningly convincing as the “good” Dr. Gabriel. Anthony Spinelli, who wrote the fascinating script with Weston, became a successful porn director also. A classic.

Excellent SM themed hardcore starring Terri Hall and Jamie Gillis, although the latter performs less sex in this than his manservant within the film played by Zebedy Colt who not only performs one of the most erotic scenes alongside the leading lady but also a really surprising one with Mr Gillis himself! Some really fine sequences, a lot of 'serious' dialogue, most of it just about avoiding seeming too crass combine with incredibly well put together soundtrack mixing what sounds like a mix of Bach and Bacharach. The print I saw looked like it had spent ten years spooling through some 42nd Street cine projector but never mind, this is an real gem from the golden era of porn and it also includes a never seen before and certainly never to be seen again erotic ballet sequence featuring ex-ballet dancer, Terri Hall herself.

Confusing this because it seems Mr Mulargia made two versions of this with the same cast and given the same title. This one has an alternative title of Hell Prison (UK video) and the other is sometimes known as Hotel Paradiso (and Hell Prison!!). The other film has a notable scene where an inmate is kissing a warden and bites off his tongue, whereas this one has Adjita Wilson suspended spread eagle from a platform and lots of leeches in the swamps. Anyway, to the matter in hand and it's not a pretty sight. Very sweaty, very sleazy jungle set W I P with lots of sex and violence. If, however you feel the outrageous and degrading violence becomes torturous for the viewer during the first half hour just wait for the drawn out and torturous escape through the jungle in the last half hour. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood but despite the presence of Ms Wilson and a spirited performance from Antonio De Teffe as the alcoholic doctor this seemed all rather tedious if graphic standard fare.

On the foundations of an irrefutably morbid script (Summer of '42 style, by Robert Mulligan), Christian Lara builds a narrative that is too weak, perhaps because he only projected it for consumers of the alternative pornographic product. And, indeed, the sex scenes, with the delicious forty-something Michèle Perello, are really beautiful, and do not focus essentially on the most explicit aspect, but rather provide an authentic aroma of romanticism that is unusual in commercial adult cinema. But, as I said, the narrative does not provide any sophistication, it does not break down the main characters, delving a little (only a little, I say) into the idiosyncrasies of each one. I would have liked to know, for example, why Helene is driven to seek romantic support when she must separate from her partner for a week (a week!) for work reasons. Something happens there that we don't know, and it throws her into a sexual frenzy.
Although the IMDb listing says that the film should last 1 hour and 30 minutes, I have only been able to find the 65-minute version dubbed into German! (thanks Nochvemo for the subtitles in my language). Perhaps in those 25 minutes lost in the limbo of Les Films de l'Epée is all the broth for this bland soup. But I doubt it.

The movie is about the "eternal triangle" of a guy who loves a girl, but the girl loves another girl. He makes it his mission to "convert" her. Unlike most soft core films, this one is not just a stripped down hard core film. The girl caught in the middle actually has some real doubts about her feelings and we can almost feel her pain.
Two scenes stand out as going to the line of hard core, but just barely touching it. A man is shown with an erect penis and a girl obviously has a grip on it and she is giving a fellatio, but no oral genital contact is shown. In the second, she guides his erect penis into her vagina, but no contact or humping motions are shown. A very explicit lesbian shown with the labia in full view and being fondled.

Andreas Bethmann is the man behind the X Rated Kult label and is the man who now and then brings out a movie containing gore done by Olaf Ittenbach and hard core sex. This is also one of them. The movie is available in different versions. The German Kino version and the version delivered outside Germany. Both clocks in at 116 minutes and not the 106 stated here by IMDb. The movie for me was the same as his other flick Angel Of Death. Girls being prisoned in their nudity, wardens torturing them by blow jobs, some kind of escape and then the gore comes in by torturing one of the girls. Literally the same, just some other girls. The acting is below zero but the girls have other things to shown. It's pussy from shot one until the end credits. Now and then you will have some blowing and some lesbian licking. The difference between the available versions is just that the hard core version uses dildo's and other stuff. The girls themselves aren't that ugly as in some other low budgets but the weirdest part is that the sound is in German but added afterwards while editing. Sometimes you see someone shutting his mouth but you here him talking, strange because they have added English subs on it. It's a bit of an ode to the prison flicks of Jess Franco and of course to the Ilsa flicks. It takes a while of cum and blow before the gore comes in but when it comes in the red stuff flows in excess. Once the girls are trying to escape heads will be shot, knife goes in the flesh, nipples are ripped of, surely not for the squeamish. You see the tortured girl peeing, zoomed in on her vagina, before all that once the lesbian warden goes berserk she put all of her fingers into a girls vagina and moves her fingers until it bleeds, all in camera. So it's a bit for everybody, if you are into hard core.

If you are a fan of endless lesbian orgies this film may be exactly the right stuff for you: see naked chicks having sex in their prison cells, under the shower, with the female attendants... here and there even some short hardcore sequences are brought on. There are some quite tame torture scenes and a subplot about the trade with female slaves, which is not further developed..!
"Bare behind bars" is probably the best WIP (stands for "Women-In-Prison")-flick ever made, because it doesn´t take itself too serious and it´s often full of unconscious humor! The best scenes has this weird Marilyn Monroe-like nurse, who uses an ananas as her dildo and exploits the female prisoners as their sex-bunnies.
If you want to know why this film is banned in countries like the U.K. or Germany check out the last third, which is the grossest part of this movie! Three outlaws are able to escape and on their run they murder a family, just for drinks and food. The climax of this crime is when one of the girls castrates the dead husband and feeds the cut off dick to his pesky barking dog..! Another castration-scene is featured some minutes later... However, there´s no happy ending for the girls: two of them return to prison, the third one becomes a prostitute and gets shot by her pimp..!
"Bare behind bars" belongs to those movies you may need a shower after watching it. Nevertheless it can be pretty entertaining if you have a sense for such films. If you like WIP-flicks try to find Jess Franco´s "Sadomania", too!

A group of castaways wash ashore on a deserted island in this Italian sex/gore movie. They are unaware that a sex-crazed radioactive monster is also on the island. He attacks and rapes several of the women, who die horrible deaths because his sperm is radioactive. The survivors must find a way to either escape the island or kill the monster.
Many criticize this film on the basis of pornography, poor acting & script, and the lack of a “holocaust” plot, but there is another way to approach this film. In light of the other “holocaust” films, such as Cannibal, etc., it seems that D’Amato was fully aware of what was happening in the genre with Franco, Deodato, Lenzi, etc. at the time and decided to create a satire with those other movies in mind. Yes, this film is almost entirely porno, but that is the satire in the film. Instead of cannibals it is sex. So, picture Cannibal Holocaust with its unforgiving and repeated scenes of cannibalism and animal cruelty and apply those to porno. What is the end result? A Porno Holocaust. It is an exploitation of porno in general and if any one could do it successfully, it’s D’Amato.

In an isolated cave equipped with an air mattress, the girls are drugged and violated, the men are tied up, and it all ends in a violent, bloody confrontation with tomahawk wielding biker chicks that comes completely out of nowhere.
This incompetent porn film has been revived for a new generation in competing versions by Something Weird and Alpha Blue Archives. Both are of very poor quality, as was evidently the original film.
Behind the scratchy green lines and "what was that?" frequent splices, the surviving prints of "Bad, Bad, Gang!" betray a moronic sensibility. I watched many, many biker films at the drive-in during the '70s, but didn't realize that pornographers were laughably attempting to emulate this stilted genre.

As our quartet of two couples heads to Lake Shangri-la by the Garden of Eden campsite, the camera zooms in & out on objects that display their mainly biblical names: Eve, Kane (sic), Able (sic) and Jane. Mean bikers accost them, rape the women (sort of) and then various couplings including lesbian trysts and a threesome fill out the running time. The improvised dialog is idiotic, action scenes inept, and plot progression thrown out the window early on. Familiar faces like Rene Bond (underused here), her paramour Ric Lutze (embarrassing) and Suzanne Fields (giving out b.j.'s at will) are along for the ride.
Something Weird presents a hardcore version clocking at 56 minutes on Vol. 7 of its Dragon Art Theatre series, including fellatio and a succession of money shots. The print used by Alpha Blue Archives runs 54 minutes and is strictly softcore, even featuring different angles, as the film was evidently originally edited both ways for different theatrical playoff markets. I watched SWV first and was appalled at the shredded ending, where so much is missing that the action & resolution is incomprehensible. ABA trumps this by omitting the ending entirely, retaining only a single closeup of the chubby leader of the Cobras gang. Either way it's crap.
Library music score is atrocious even by the standards of these 1-day wonders, incongruously playing songs like "It's Just Impossible," "Amazing Grace" (!) and "Wives and Lovers". Camera-work would get anybody booted out of the union, if these untalented birds could ever qualify for union work in the first place. I've also seen the unpoetical director John Donne's other hardcore opus "Shot on Location," another stinker. He cranked out a number of softcore films in 1969, but apparently couldn't survive the awkward transition to the hard stuff.
