I'm not quite sure it's the same person...
Amy Sani started playing volleyball in the 5th grade and went on to play for Duke University as an outside hitter. There she earned several awards including: All-ACC, AVCA All-Region, Tournament MVP, and Academic All-ACC. During her sophomore year, she participated in the Olympic Festival Games and won a gold medal.
After graduating from Duke, she traveled overseas to play professionally in Bordeaux, France for Bordeaux Chantecler in the A1 league. After competing two seasons, she moved back to the US to join the coaching staff at the University of Michigan where she coached alongside Greg Giovanazzi. After a year in Ann Arbor, she returned to France to play with St-Cloud, a team in Paris in the A2 league from 1996-1998.
Wanting to continue her studies, she then enrolled in Florida State University to earn a master’s degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences and has been professionally working in the health and nutrition field ever since.
In 2003, she moved back to Europe, this time to Italy and continued playing volleyball for several Italian clubs. After living in Italy for over 11 years, she returned to the US once again, landing first in Virginia and then Maryland.
She has enjoyed coaching boys club the past five years and is looking forward to continuing her coaching career at The St James.
